Yeah i know. But it was powdercoated when i got it. I didn't even realise it was a raleigh until i did some research, the guy i brought it off thought it was a Rourke. More fool him. Although a Rourke would've still been nice.
So yeah, it would be a fuck load of work (and probably money) to bring it back to it's former glory, but it is tempting. Hmmm.

I think it's probably a good idea to leave that for last, after all, it still look gorgeous in it's current paintjob.

SOLD! I'm picking this up this weekend and gonna chuck my Beta groupset on it and see how it feels. It's 531 so should be nice and light.

I know, i know. It's just always gonna be at the back of my mind, to want to make it purely original! I will probably just leave as is though.

Not quite finished...i still need to finish sanding the scallops on the frame...but the slo-pro is almost there. Might switch the dura ace cranks for some 165mm to help with the toe overlap....and i ditched the glo in the dark paint...wasn't tough enough for my liking...so instead i'm gonna stick with primer/filler/scruffy looking. :)

@Adam.....i can assure you that as someone with a fucked up back, they both feel so comfy...rather than bending my spine over which it doesn't like they seem to lay it flatter cos they both have longer top tubes than my brooklyn...both feel good.

@spagetti.....yeah BLB just got 24 holes in stock so i have a pair of 24 hole deep v's sitting here too now :)

It was looking amazing, but despite 3 coats of primer, 5 layers of glo and 5 layers of laquer, plus a good months worth of curing time, it still fell off at the slightest tap....fell off in huge chunks around the dropouts....fell off near the headset...etc
If i'm gonna go to all the trouble of painting it properly i want more durability than that.

Both silver 700's...though one was attacked with the oven cleaner but not finished off due to the h+ arriving in time...i'll do you the pair for £50 if you wanna clean the rim up?
