^^I think it's 105/Ultegra with a USE chainring.
It's a church burners' thing.

Also, HoKe has done some glossy photos of my DF3 for me. Still need to tweak the track setup so, until then, you'll have to make do with HHSB setup pics...

What's the chainset? For some reason it's not working visually for me. But as long as you like it then I'll shut up :-)
Ultegra road crankset with USE chainring. Nor the prettiest combo I must admit, I'm keeping an eye out for some 165 Sram road cranks to eventually replaced them.

Good call. Sram would look good.

What chainring would people recommend for 110 bcd cranks, to be run fixed/ SS?
-
• #89782
Roboto, you got enough spokes there pal?

If 72 is good enough for Japanese Keirin racers then it's good enough for me. I do have some new wheels on the way, 24h rear and 20h front.

Project Black Metal Vigorelli is done for now. Although I think I may send it to Armourtex to get painted properly at some point soon.
whats the deal with painting carbon forks? is it simple?
I want to get my vig resprayed at some point.

So I won this last night. I'm wetting myself with excitement. Pity I have no money now so I'll have to make do with my current group and wheels for like... a year.

A quick test ride and small tweak of handlebar position over the weekend; I think I can finally stop tinkering with the Ron Cooper for a while now. The new Nitto bar/stem combo is a very comfy upgrade indeed.

Oooooh whatcha getting?!
I really want a FC 404 track wheel

Cheers! The bar end plugs are a custom indulgence ordered from this kindly American chap:

(I'm happy to report to Scoble that they show no signs of dropping out any time this decade.)

Very, very nice.
Don't worry about the components. Not all builds are quick.

That Ron Cooper is absolutely immaculate.

Tommmmmmm, what about a Croix de Fer? its a step above the standard surly, at 725, but bellow the 853 leaving you happily in the middle? Plus its discs and all the mounts you could need.

Season jumper Alert*
ready to swap the cranks/pedals off "Fat/rat/Nasty" for some "ButtaLugs"
gonna try to fit 32c as i'm liking the puncture protection from big tires48t on the chainring/17/19t cogs
Crankset/Pedals off this to be put away for Next winter

...I'm gonna join him.
Got this frame from a pal. It deserves good parts and it will eventually get them but Sunday was a lovely day and I wanted to ride it so I covered all the scratches and scrapes with stickers and built it up using only novelty spares I had lying around... I dunno what cranks they are... At the time of the last Kinoko sale I bought orange Lizard Skin tape thinking it would gather dust... Turns out, I DID find a use for it after all! Front is a hundred quid Teny mag wheel I got at justrideitbikes in Aus, rear is a cheap as fuck Quando, the bars are old Cinelli Criteriums, the first item I ever bought from classifieds... I think I forced them into a stem that perhaps was the wrong size... The chain is a Charge half-link because like I said... Unused spares and junk parts only. I think this build should live in the part of the Venn diagram where anti and beater overlap... It's loads of fun to ride! I'll post some pictures later in the year when I put some "proper" wheels and cranks on it etc.

Is that the frame I think it is? Couldn't you have gone for a walk or something? :(
-
• #89797
Skrtluv is one thing but this is just wrong.
Like normal chain, not THAT front wheel and
black cockpit, fine then it shall be your beater or
whatever and then it would be bearable, but this just
hurts. -
• #89798
Alfie, if you think it's a BMC track machine, then you're right.
Master, this build getting on your nerves makes me love it even more!!!!
Like I said, I'm gonna build it properly but why not have fun with it in the interim? I'm kinda viewing it like one of the crazy Lego creations you'd make as a kid after all your sets ended up in a box without instructions.
-
• #89799
It's just my opinion, I don't have to look at it you know.
And your statement just makes me think that you love any kind of attention.
But I would love to see it properly built. Keep riding. -

Oh dear.
Sense of humour fail?
Ha! The Makino came in around £600 complete. The Vigorelli just slightly over that, and only because of the silly cranks. It's only the Oak which is the big spender.
