At least he'll know when he's on the rivet

Is there a black quill stem with an open face plate currently being produced and readily available?
-
• #89585
I wouldn't expect that colour mix to work, but the Dave Marsh has a smart look to it.

this! WHY henry?
If you want flex there is Fizik Kurve (modern/light but pricey); C17 is for scoblephiles plus i thought you were a Romin guy
-
• #89587
That only seems to be available in the high-polish silver now.

Best place to get black strong v grips online? Hubjub?

Cause it's expensive as fuck, trade cost as much as the Brooks does in retail.
I loved mine, really comfortable, for the first 10 minutes I thought I have less pressure in the tyres only to realised it's the saddle that was giving.
Only nag is that it's missing the cut out that I enjoyed from the Selle Anatomica saddle.
Moment I lend it to a friend, Brooks announced a cut-out version that's coming out;

Anyone got any opinions on whether it would be possible to convert one of these - http://www.wiggle.co.uk/charge-scissor-x-knog-29er-limited-edition-2013/ - into something akin to those super-cool do-it-all BMW Gangstas that I keep seeing on here - with drops, slicks etc.? Would the frame be too tight to ride comfortably long(ish) distances? Any thoughts appreciated. Ta.

It does seem that nobody is stocking the black one in the UK at least. You could always get a silver one and anodise it.

Has the frog failed again?

Totally different geo to a gangstar, this is a fgfs bike, much much larger tyre clearances. you could put drops on it, but it would be a weird ride.

What Spotter said, the scissor has larger tyre clearance and a way higher BB. If I were you I'd just buy an on one pompino or some other sscx frame. Older volume cutters are quite similar to Brooklyn's but a pomp would be just as good if not better.

[QUOTE=sumo;4118976]This arrived today
nice saddle but a bit out of place on an enve post / modern frame... whats the build?
-
• #89597
A steel Oak innit, on a handmade seatpost.
Seems like a nice meeting of modern/tradition.

I've ordered my new titanium road frame from Burls and now I'm going to start sourcing parts. I'm going for Ultegra 11 speed but which cassette range would people recommend? Ta!

What's the bike for?
-
• #89600
Good question, it's for longer distance riding down to Brighton, out in to Essex, out in to Surrey, maybe some light touting to Paris/ Amstedam. It won't be raced and will really be built more like a winter trainer with the ability to fit mudguards and panniers.. So a bit of an all rounder as much as possible. (new to this gears malarky so please be be kind!)
^Cheers Indra. Ive measured my saddles and they all seem to be 43, the yokes on my seatpost would appear to be 45mm. The post is supposed to work with Tune Speedneedle saddles and as far as I can tell my Smud has the same rail diameter and width. WTF!
