some say difference is due to decor
good reviews though
"Much stiffer than the Extreme C however far less comfortable and only about 1/5 kg heavier. Despite being made up from all the spare parts in my garage, this bike is a scalpel in crits and on descents and my biggest issue is running up the back of / up the inside of other "slower" riders on all sorts of corners. For smooth crits, this would be my weapon of choice and is the bike that I have recorded my fastest average race speeds ~47km/h in crits...."
relates to the dream hp /\with carbon rear bstay though -

no problemo, this relayes to the all alu dream, i referenced it in the porn thread a few days ago
"Colnagos are designed to use an offset seatpost and a long stem that hangs the rider's weight over the wheels, not over the frame, which results in a short wheelbase and fast handling. The bike is planted. They just handle, like a Ferrari. The weight bias is perfect. That is how Ernesto Colnago intended them to be ridden." -

New bars, cables and saddle to go with last weeks power meter.
Might have to go for a spin in the sun tomorrow!

The S3 is coming together. Here with its alternate non-aero wheel set I just got from Telescope on here. IRD 30 rims on Royce hubs.
Just ordered a Dura Ace 9000 group set for under £1k thanks to Merlin. Now just need to decide on a stem and bars (the one shown is just securing the forks).
Thinking of Vision Metron 4D. Parameters- light stiff flat tops and aero.

Awsome Dream! Great to hear some info about them. I was wondering if you can help me out. About a year ago i bought a NOS Colnago Dream Art Decor frameset and build it up with a "period correct" group set (8 speed Chorus/Record mix). I'm trying to find out when the frame was build but I find it really hard to come across some decent info. Do you have any idea? I had the FF replaced with an original one since it came with a really ugly fork (In Art Decor paint scheme though)
Also, how were they placed in colnago's hierarchy? Was it a high end frame set?
Thanks for your help!
Seatpost and saddle are going to be changed and the stem needs a coat of paint btw ;)

Have you considered Zipp VukaSprint. Available now at below the RRP of the Vision bar, so you won't have to wait a week after the Vison bar hits the shops for it to drop to the 50% of RRP which is the correct price for FSA product :-)
Probably lighter and aero-er too.

^^^ The Dream was Colnago's "entry-level" frameset around the turn of the millennium. They went to the carbon B-Stay (as used on the C40) for the rear triangle around '03, for a year or so, and then they went to the HP (high power) version of the B-Stay (with the little diamond shaped hole in the chainstays) for a few years until it was discontinued.
Of course this was when they still made everything in Italy so "entry-level" is not much like their current cheaper Giant-produced frames that come with 105. Think they originally retailed around £1200 for the frameset.
I have a Dream B-Stay and I absolutely love it.

^ slightly confusing, there's a Master Olympic Pista (I think?) and a C-50 among those pics.
Here's a (fanboyish, admittedly) review of the Dream B-Stay:

i shied away from bstay as i heard it loses stiffness in the stay join, or can become unbonded, carbon to alu

Yeah, there were a couple in there, but the default one was definitely not a Dream.
TBH I do worry about the bonding, but I check it regularly. If it did die I'd have another in a heartbeat. Though I'd love to try a C-50.

Zipp looks good although the 4D has nicer ergonomics. Sadly I suspect that mounting my Garmin means I will have to take a bit of a weight hit and that I'll have to fit one of these, the LTD is claimed 178g - unless you are able to point me elsewhere?

the problem i feared with the dream hp relates to the alu/carbon bond
all carbon hp stays are vulnerable in another way, there is no exit holes for water, so round the drop out join can be real bad inside -

Fuck it, new C59 then.

AD10, the greatest Colnago paint scheme of all. Need to be the horizontal top tube version though.
-

I suspect the reason why I liked it cause it remind me of the Mapel Colnago.
