I have a beater again after picking up this £20 frame from the Herne Hill Jumble.
Would like to keep the patriotic fade paint but the frame has a case of the rusts so will be powder coated.
Thanks to TeenSlain for storing it, and to his flat mate for fending off an attacker while carrying it.
Will decide on wheels and saddle after a new colour is chosen.
Anybody know anything about Stratton frames?

That's one hell of a nice looking beater Dwayne.
There is a Stratton Cycles in Wandsworth, don't know if they ever made their own frames though.

keep it original. dont powdercoat it.
a little rust and scratches are a good thing.
just take a small piece of steel wool to the rust spots
and then protect it with clear nail polish. -

My Casati track frame is almost done, with just a new pair of wheels to be fitted once I've sourced a new tub for the front. The bike got it's first outing at Herne Hill yesterday and handles like a dream, a much smoother ride than the Merckx it replaced.
I'll post some proper pics once the new wheels are fitted but here's one showing the current build.
OMFG!

Does anyone own one, or know anything on san marco frames? can't find any information on the mainframe. Was wearing Delta brakes and Chorus 8 speed Gruppo. Any info would be much appreciated.

Loving the Cross bike/winter bike projects. I'd like to do something like that myself at some point when I have more money. I had a cross bike before and it was great fun (and so versatile). Ideally I'd like one with rack and mudguard eyelets too. Basically I want a touring frame with cyclo cross strength and geometry.
You, sir, want a Singular Peregrine. No question. Ticks all of your boxes and is bloody ace off road, whether set up geared or singlespeed/fixed. I love mine. More info here: http://www.singularcycles.com/
If you happen to get in touch with Sam, say hi from me.

san marco started off being bespoke then went large scale and now its back to bespoke again, with his son carrying the business forward in Italy.
Lovely bikes they are. -

Cool, thanks for that.
It may be a while before I can splash out though.
Apparently there's a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, I'm hoping to get it.
