Yes, changed it to a different one pretty much straight away. I wish there was some more velcro inside too, currently using two paperclips to hold it together, lol.

  • roadie wheels? so boss

which mini v's are you using again? im still tempted to swap

  • Rogan - I've got a set of TRP CX9s on my Cross Check, have a friend with Paul Mini Moto's too, both of us have been very pleased with them

  • aye, i always forget how expensive decent brakes are

the cantis are fine when its not wet, but they leave alot to be desired when its really wet

i.e all the time in manchester

  • Was gonna go for Archetypes at first, but got these cheap and their inner width is 20mm, so the profile of the tyres is a lot better now. Brakes are TRP 8.4 and they're really great. Will not be going back to Cantis. Got them for about £75 from asia.

  • Yeah, that's one of the things which prompted me to swap. I'm sure I could have got better cantis/pads/cables and have similar performance, but the CX9s just felt better out of the box.

I'm also a lot happier adjusting v brakes which has makes general set up/maintenance quicker and a lot less stressful!
