  • £317 seems pretty bargainous to me!

  • I looked up the year when I bought it by checking the catalogues and the decals, quite some time ago now so I forget exactly, but I think '86 or '87 would be about right.

    Yeah I saw that, but at the price it didnt bother me so much (and I've already two 520 wheelsets ;) ). Sure someone'll want 'em at a knock down price - still great for the track.

    And 42 days? My word that's a long time. I'm waiting on a Turbomatic from france, hopefully it wont take over a month and a half to get it.

  • Can't go with a Turbo saddle, already have one on each Mecacycle Turbo ;)

    But a Turbomatic or Flite (though seems everyone has one these days so a bit boring) or maybe something else less run of the mill. Seems the Regal on the Peugeot is the Girardi version so I could get a good swap out of it.

    Seeing as I'm posting crappy photos, my daily - now has brake levers - I didn't think it would suit a bullhorn so fancied trying something different, and it's quite comfy:

  • The 58cm and above has a 73 degree head tube angle which is quite steep.
    I think the fork has too much rake making it look slack.

    And yet it needs more to make it handle nicely. 35mm offset is probably OK on a 73° (65mm trail), although most road bikes with 73° head angles use 40-43mm (60mm-57mm trail). On the super slack small ones, though, the 35mm fork combined with a 70° head tube will give a huge 84mm of trail.

    Not to sure whether to keep these risers and black seat, or change to white tapped bullhorns with a white saddle?

  • I have a concorde frame in this colour way. want to reduce its weight a little though it's not going to be weenie - it's my winter bike. upgraded wheels to shimano R500s (need to remove decals from these) and group to SRAM apex. preponderance of black now so will probably keep stem and seatpost silver

    Tell us what you have at the moment, with weights, and we can tell you in detail how pointless it is trying to lighten up on your hack bike.

  • Only took 42 days to arrive, but I got a Peugeot finally -

    That's not an instragram filter, just a very very shitty camera..

    The good -stem and seatpost all move freely, clipless pedals were easily removed too, looks like the cranks have been retapped to 9/16x20. Ace.

    On the ebay ad I was told the size was 59x58, the ad on the site here it said it was 58x57, the reality (and better yet for me) is that it's 60x59 and fits quite nicely.

    The not-so-good - french threaded BB, while not a total surprise and I can work with it, at the time this bike was built Peugeot were putting out their commercial bikes with British threading so I was hoping it could be the case here. Oh well.

    The build - undecided really, it's quite nice as it is to be honest but I think the paleish blue could work well with a smattering of black components, I've a black bar and stem that need a home, black caged track pedals too, possibly black rims and gumwalls.. All something to think about anyway.

    But I'll certainly change the saddle as I've already have one bike with a Regal and while it's alright I think this bike would do with something a little more late-80s/early-90s. Also could do with a larger chainring (46 => 48) and a nicer seatpost.

    I really love it. Very nice colors.

    I have sourced another Ergostem to replace the failed yellow one too, just need to pick it up from a mates, so the LA84s will be making another appearance in the future. Then it's just the disc to complete it. As it stands now...

    I'm pretty happy with how it's worked out.

    I think it works with the Corima front.
