Aren't Meteors made from gas pipe? In which case, the frame would be stiffer than this:

due to being the same size tubes with thicker walls, and all steels having essentially the same Young's modulus.

Still, nice to know there are forumengers who need more from a bike than Nelson Vails did at his peak.

I'm sure that Nelson Vails would have liked more from his bike, had that been possible at the time.
