  • Gabe you braking on a tri that has tape on the break track?

  • it's not tapped, it was paint that's now worn off

  • see here

  • Haha, Awesome frame man! I almost bought it a few weeks ago but the communication with the guy was such a hassle that the sale fell through, unfortunately ;) What kind of guy was he? I'm curious!

Rodolfo I've those are the ones ^ you're looking for I might have some, have to check in the drawer. Also my frame (same seller) was fully integrated 45/36.

    Next question,
I've just picked up this frame:

Unfortunately it's italian threaded, and I'm using Sram Omniums. Can I fit this bottom bracket?

  • Haha, yes it was for sale for a long time, at first for far more. The guy had more than 70 people interested and a lot of potential buyers. He also didn't want to ship the frame, so I had to take the train from Leeuwarden to Rotterdam (6 hours total..)

The guy didn't know anything about it and bought it 4 years back because he heard about the fixie-hype (he was about 50 years old ;d). And when we came at his house he had more than 20 bassguitars hanging around (I'm a bass-player), so I was speechless haha. Great but weird guy, have spent about 1,5 hours with him!

  • Not as interesting as 1/2 the things going on here but I tried pursuit bars on my tarck bike today.

I know most people will dislike it but I bloody love this frame.

  • This setup looks good for sure! For some reason the bulls make the frame look a little less to small for you (did you use a shorter stem with the compacts?)

  • Cheers, I think I used a 110mm with the compacts, this is a 120mm.

Feels a bit nicer to be stretched out more and my reach has definitely gotten far greater since building the seta where I was using a 90mm stem and compact drops with a higher bar position compared to a 120mm stem slammed with pursuits.

  • Tunnel spec.

yuup, where you there last night?

  • No, not got to any of the Bristol things for a while now. Is there a Hacksaws this year? May say ello at that.

  • that Negri Mapei frame is fucking awesome

  • It was for a sprint event, which is why it's got the brake too. Normally i'm on 49 x 18/19

yeah I have heard about it, was it anywhere online?

  • yuup, where you there last night?

How was it? I was there last year and it was a really nice vibe.

  • Just brought this, collecting it tonight turning it into fixed over the next couple of weeks, what you think!

  • Should have bought a frame designed for fixed.

  • ... or you could buy a complete viking fixie off ebay and keep that nice road bike to go with it/

Yes, on the second of November, follow @djc_hacksaws on Twitter for more info.

Tunnel sprints was rad, good atmosphere. Kieran won again, by at least a bike length. Beast!

Dillon - it's a bit tricky to tell from the photo you posted, but I'm not sure your frame has the right dropouts for FG/SS.
This chart may help you work that one out.

  • Why wouldnt one be able to convert a bike with :(-tagged dropouts to a fixed bike? Excuse my noobiness as I have never owned or ridden a fixed gear bike.

how did you end up here?!

  • The same way we all did, via the 5th floor.

  • You can't tension the chain properly unless you have room in the dropouts to move your back wheel horizontally.

    White Industries Eccentric hubs.

  • ...cost a lot of money, and aren't as good a solution as buying a frame with horizontal dropouts.
