NZkiddo, you should come riding with us. We ride tuesdays (meeting at 6 on the corner of Symonds and K Road). Often see your bikes in the shop but not on the road. Come along and say hi!
sounds good! I'll try to get time off work first~!

^^^ I'd have a go at costing out the full project and see if you're happy with that figure, rather than the frame-only price. £200 for a geared lo pro with good paint is not nuts - I paid £180 for something similar, although that included a headset...

yes! internal routing, forks are already columbus MAX, lovely finish - I totally would.

nah, don't bother, the novelty will wear off quickly, and with a 24" front wheel you're hardly spoilt for choice. If you can stretch to £285 the Carlton Track frame that Hilary has is lovely

do it, life is too short for boring frames.
on an unrelated note -
anybody recognize? selling for 585, without headset. cheeky sod!

What makes you think that? Anyway, its a thing of beauty and probably worth the money if you want to build a period geared lopro (and have the rest of the bits or money to buy them).

gently sloping fork crown and flat blades.

Not really sure about that blue. Shouldn't cx bikes be a bit lary? Not sure about having a purple headset with that blue. If you are set on it then I'd match the seat collar to keep a visual line.
I think the fade to black at the back works better than vice versa. Unless you're spraying the forks the blacks won't match up. Even if you are I think it still looks better and I'd spray the forks blue instead.
Also I think you should have black lettering without the white outline and move the black fade forward so the letters appear to be growing out of the black section.
