I might just use the wheelset in that picture and see what the fattest tyres I can fit are.
Cheapest option too.
-
• #80103
you could get some pretty fat 406 wheels in there...

What are these tyres:

Challenge Griffo clinchers?
-
• #80106
Look like they've got a thicker tread than the Grifos
Looks like they Challenge Limus -
• #80107
Don't think they are limus - they have very wide spaced knobs for deep mud
Fango perhaps: http://www.ribblecycles.co.uk/sp/road-track-bike/tyres-cross-folding-challenge-open-fango-33-cross-tyre/chaltyrf301

Made a trip to Jingle Jangle of this parish yesterday. Picked up a frame and a surprise 10spd Centaur group - looking forward to putting them together.
It's not really a Roberts, so it'll go with my Dave Russell that isn't a Dave Russell.

cross post from my build thread
Boom!
Fresh out of workshop shot.
Rode it home with less saddle to bar drop obviously.
Needs all the fitting tweaks starting with slamming and flipping the stem and getting rid of ScobleStackā¢ Might need a longer stem too.
Weights close to 10kg; it was never meant to be a WW build anyway.
Couldn't be happier rides really well without any tweaks done yet.BIG thanks to Kinoko cycles; every one in workshop for being patient with the build and delivering when I really needed! Thanks to Tom Donhou for tweaking the chainstay quickly.

I don't think it is - I'm talking about another frame I have that's badged up as a Russell. The confusing part is that the BB is possibly French threaded, but the TT cable guides are on the right hand side, which I think is an English thing. We will see...

That build makes no sense to me.
I like Langdale frames though

• #80121
It's a parts bin raid but should work pretty well no?
-
• #80122
i made sure the rear/front mech, chainset, shifters and BB all match just so its 100% with shifting, chainlines etc etc. going to get a more era in keeping brakeset (campagnolo athena, shimano 600 .. modolo??) when i cba
other than that - yeah it was essentially pick and mix, parts i like as well as ones i'm comfortable with, all works very well together, its generally a lovely bike to ride! took it down to dorset with my dad, gets some good pace, handles well, not had a single complaint.

Makes every bit of sense to me.

Except me! I loved that thing and swapped it for a 56cm frame which turned out to be 63cm. Meh, live and learn I suppose, does look beautiful dude :) If you ever do come to sell it, dibs!

Tricky.
Was it crouching when you first viewed it?
BTW, track=path, so a dual purpose frame is road/path.
