Put cosmics on my road bike today, thought they might look crap but think they work actually... hoping they will help carry me the 150 odd miles from Bristol to the smoke tomorrow....

finally finished my cargo bike /utility mutant
before
Fenders were removed for a cargo bike?
I'd look for (or make) some shorter stays for the front rack.
Otherwise, ready for the load-out. -

Otherwise, ready for the load-out.I just got it out today from lbs, I want some 2/3 length fenders and haven't found any as yet
rack is distributed by Puch for a range with 26'' wheels, and frames of similar proportions, so you don't have to worry about the stays, front load will not be that heavy any ways
I rotated the bars, and tested it off roadness (a little) this afternoon

Is the rack steel or aluminum?
Steel stays especially would be squishable/re-drillable.
Ultimately a well-suited bike for the job, well done. -

alu i should imagine with the price of fish in china at the moment,
thanks anyway old bean,
I nearly forgot...
here's the 2nd italian freak i rode today
my lbs man took it in px 15 years ago
i nearly wiped out, but he could ride it, you'd think him a buffoon if you judged him by this transaction, but at the back of the shop there is also 3 vintage Ducati cafe racers -
• #79215
one is this colour
when he's busy, or not looking
i touch it -

As a kid, there was a big, illustrated book of motorbikes I must of had out of the library a hundred times, just to stare at the cafe racer, a Laverda Jota and an agricultural Agusta...
-
• #79217
Bullshit, children don't do libraries.

the fella had a Laverda, I also touched,
maket prices for Ducati Cafe racers are shocking,
he showed me online auctioneer based in Monaco who lists and the starting prices
could arguably sustain some developing countries

real strange cats to look for are Porsche tractors -

Ultimately a well-suited bike for the job, well done.i managed to sort the angle of the dangle re the rack a little, though i did
try in old situ with a reasonably heavy load and was good
with no squishing or drilling, i simply moved the bolt to the next hole up

Bullshit, children don't do libraries.
Some do, I was hooked on Dinosaurs and Tin Tin.
Trying to work out what that BMX thing could do in the right hands?
-
• #79222
the thing's meant to originate from Italy, though decals seem Germanic, original owner had 4 or 5
maybe he worked in the circus industry -

I've been doing stretches lately and it really seems to work
it also turns out I dont need as short a top tube as I thought I did, the Bob has a 52cm TT and a 100mm stem with compact bars and thats comfy commuting,
my alan has a 50cm TT and the 100mm stem on it feels too short now when Im not riding with a backpack so thinking of going form -6 100 to -17 120?
In the long run I'd like a new frame to replace the Alan as my main roadbike as I could potentially run 52 ETT with ~110 stem I think.
Not sure if stretching is truely classed as a CP but it worked.
