Not bitter, just surprised somebody could misinterpret what I wrote in such a way.
how did i misinterpret what you said? i simply made a comment based on the comment that you made, that encompassed a slightly wider grasp of the subject matter.
As for 'goodbye'. What? Are you twelve? I'm not going anywhere. I quite like LFGSS.
ending my sentence in a manner that i thought matched your first comment, rude and immature.

tarck bike.com is a fucking shithole full of twats
Not a single bike with fenders or a rack. What are you, some sort of bougie Californian who drives to work and for whom camping involves a resort? GTFO and choke on a satchel of dongs.

we all know very well that fenders and racks can >>>

I actually thought superjoe's comment was quite dry and witty. So I rep'rd him for it.

I don't think it's unreasonable to form an opinion of Prolly based on his prolific blogging. I don't think that would be an opinion of him personally, as a human being, just of his taste in hipstercross bikes and performance streetwear. Which it's perfectly fine not to like.
You're right, not unreasonable at all. I do often find it difficult to distinguish between what passes for 'LFGSS porn' and a Prolly 'Beautiful Bicycle' though. You guys are literally praising the same stuff.
Nowt wrong with that at all, I just wish some folk would admit that John's got some taste instead of pretending that he's some hipster dork with way too much free stuff in his closet.your first comment indicates that we can only have opinion if we know him, otherwise we just follow the fashion that you just brought here with you.
Certainly not, I'd never be so narrow-minded. John puts himself and his work up for criticism and praise alike, and everyone's entitled to their opinion. I'm not telling anyone how to think, merely revealing my surprise at the incredibly samey (generally negative) attitude towards him that I've encountered on here. It's been the only fly in the LFGSS ointment for me so far, tbh.
Anyway, with regards to current project chat and miscellany, I managed to sell a single 10-year-old Magura HS33 brake for $100 last week, so I've finally got around to ordering a wheelset for my Pompino.

yup, missus has a 'two bikes at one time' rule, otherwise I'd keep the dale

• #76339
fair play.
I'm interested in stables at the moment - trying to work out what the ultimate combo for my needs (well... wants) would be, and clever ways of making one bike do as many things as possible.I have a road, a tourer, a track and a beater. reckon tourer and beater could be the same frame with two different build kits for summer / winter... and the track can be an occasional hhsb if I get bored of trudging around town on a heavy touring frame...
Anyway, I'd be interested to hear what other people have and what the thinking behind the choices is.

I'm on road bike, tourer/commuter, and fixed/commuter/beater/maybe one track if I can be bothered. Works for me...

You know that, legally, that rule does not apply to bikes that have been dismantled and stored in cupboards/the shed.
-
• #76342
That rule also doesn't apply if you dump the missus.
-
• #76343
Or dismantle her and store her in a cupboard
-
• #76344
I've got a garage in which a bike could be stored, I am not offering to store your missus however.

Dat Raleigh Gaston... Mon cher compatriote... How to say it... Has to be a joke... Am I failing at detecting the irony? I mean, from the same guy who posted one of my favorite bike ever (Dat Mavic). I am so confused...
That was a joke
this Raleigh one is so comfy , the build: http://www.pignonfixe.com/showthread.php?tid=96698
