If it's a rat bike, surely it make sense just to wack in a decent brake caliper with koolstop and levers?
Putting a Pompetamine fork will raised the front end slightly causing it to handle differently as well raising the bottom bracket higher too.
Lastly, if it's a rat bike, leave it alone!

^ yea but I am getting a disc set up in the same (If not less) cost ..

I doubt your going to fit a 32c in the rear
-
• #75555
^ I already have :P runs fine

^^^^ how will be handling differently exactly?

Bright Yellow bartape (why not?)
I agree. Especially when it's £2:

Are you serious? CX fork is longer than normal road fork, bring the front end higher, making the head angle more relaxed and with more rake in the fork.
If you like how it handle, don't expect it to be the same when you put that CX fork on.

fair enough, I am not too fussed actually, not going to be my primary bike anyway .. anyone knows what post mount adapter i'll need to mount the front brake caliper on the fork?
-
• #75563
Usually come with the disc brake.
It's a beater, it will become your primary bike.
-
• #75564
says this in wiggle: Front fully bled lever and calliper comes without adapters or rotors giving you the freedom to customise to suite your bike

I'd try and hate it ;)

basically it'll come like this:

• #75571
You know what really fucks with your chain tension?
When you pick up your cheapo beater's chainring and think "hmm this is an egg"
and down the side it's all "SHIMANO BIOPACE"
meh done it anyway
-
• #75572
gonna have so much exercise physiology up in my beater
-
• #75573
Biopace will work with a fixed wheel drivetrain.
It will give you that physiological boost thinking it make you go faster.
-
• #75574
you forgot 'bicycle'

Keep this up and I'll show you the real meaning for a fork end.
Project Rat is a go
After buying this Fuji Track from Dakin I am thinking about following upgrades;
Defo not riding brakeless so a front brake that is disc and hydraulic (why not?)
So a Pompetamine fork + Inexpensive 29er disc wheel + Shimano BR-M596 brake + 32c schwalbe marathon supreme
Better seatpost and saddle (already done, have a cheap FSA carbon seatpost and a tatty arione)
Bright Yellow bartape (why not?)
Inexpensive crankset (thats only when I ride this one in ground something like sram s100)
Better flat pedals + restraps (need suggestions on pedals that will work with this wall mount with straps)
This weekend I'll get rid of the rust as much as I can and coat it with this.
