Not having the wheel slammed... Go wash your mouth!

Mind you, brakes shouldn't be an issue in the first place...

That's what I was doing, but it was putting it too far back in the dropout for my taste. I know what I 'should' do, which is get a half link chain, but... eurgh, half link chains.

Quick one, are 23mm conti GP 4000s likely to be slightly taller than other similar tyres?
Well, they are taller than tyres of the same width with thinner treads and breakers, but then if you're talking about half a mm then the variation between one company's idea of 23mm and another's is in play. You can reduce the rolling diameter without losing volume by switching to wider rims. B0N0R has already giving the correct solution, but changing your rims too will make your life even better.

Oh sorry, just to be clear - it's the rear brake bridge, that I guess is put there for structural support (it's not drilled). I'm not running a brake on the back (front was removed for photography purposes - clearance there is fine)

Thanks, I know Bonor's correct - and that's what I've been doing up until now.
I'll try the contis on the new rims and see if it makes a difference, they might be wide enough to make a difference (though technically they're the same). -

Also, is there a way of getting that Flite looking decent again without recovering? Black leather polish?
They're so fucking expensive on eBay for the nice 90s ones. -

Any advice on a reasonably comfy but not too porky saddle? I quite like my Planet-X team which I have on one of my other bikes (cromo). Will be used on my croix de fer, which is my daily commute. Also maybe some light touring. Suggestions?
a spesh Romin, plus they've got a 30 day money back guarantee if you don't get on with it. You will need to check that the place you does it from will honour that though

I've been mountain biking a fair bit again recently, since I've been back in Australia, mostly on borrowed bikes or demo bikes from work. A friend of a friend was selling this Ibis Mojo SL in my size, and for a good price. I'm supposed to be saving money, but I couldn't say no! It was in a bit of a state, so I spent this evening sorting it out. Nothing major. Just shortening hoses, replacing pads, truing wheels, setting things up properly etc. I've ordered a 70mm thomson stem and layback seatpost for it, and some nicer tyres. Just need to sort out a chain device now...

Looks nice and tidy. Did it have two sets of bars previously or is that just a weird angle?
Oh, and you have a skate ramp in your bathroom?
-
• #75046
Agreed, that looks like fun.
Skateramp in bathroom = dream being lived.

Started on my Pub Bike Project, my old Falcon Professional, I have collected beer bottle labels for a while now and started cleaning the frame at work, once it is spotless, our painter will give it a coat of primer then I will stick the labels on before it gets some Laquer on top, it might work it might not but it has to be tried :D

I may have a Cinelli bench/mechanic stand. Not sure though, bur I'm sure I once had one. Not all Cinelli stuff is superb quality though.
