  • No probs, PM'd.

  • Well obviously you'd know more than I, but it appears that stuff would just slide off te sides? Another bungee <--> perhaps?

Ah, right, it's being built and hopefully used to carry sleeping bag, floor roll, and tent on a 3 week tour up the country along the Grand Union canal from NW of Heathrow (west drayton) to wherever it leads me in the space of 3 weeks. My bike has neither front rack mounts, or front calliper mount, and no racks I could find would fit, so I had to improvise something that would be a usable size without being stupid heavy. It may well get a bungee net, but this is only 2nd prototype, and the 1st to be an actually usable weight.

My concern is the size of U Lock that goes in that slot.

No body gonna nick my bike!

Awesome! Something Mad Max about it: "You don't have to get out of my way, but I will fuck you up..."

Cool, now that's the sort of compliment that touches a mans heart... you've made me blush! ;P

Brakes are squeeling like an Apalachian pig currently, hopefully that'll stop soon.

Gearshift is very good- nice and crisp, although it is shifting under load on it's own in one gear currently, but that just needs slight adjustment.

Am fascinated as to how the ride would compare to mine, so intrigued to try something that started the same as mine, but is now totally different!

For a start, you'd be able to push yours a lot more, with stronger and stiffer wheels, whereas I'm always I little scared the rims might not take it (have so far though).

edit: How does an Apalachian pig squeel?!

  • This is not the same stuf as Shimano (Dura Ace) grease you can buy nowadays.
This hi quality stuf was bought at AGIP.
If you want it now and relatively cheap, search for AGIP Autol Top 2000

    Didn't know that - thanks.

  • ^^^ you might want to put the tent on a rear rack, unless it's very light.

  • cbadman.jpg

This looks useful, crashable and therefore lots of fun.

  • Finally got some 7600 wheels, but not convinced by silver rims.
Also, need a black chainring, obviously.

  • dglshrn, check out my for sale thread for DA7600s.. im interested in a swap if you have any interest..

  • Needs more red??

  • red tyres please

  • excuse the non slammed stem, it's just temporary.

also steerer needs to be cut, and a few other things too.

2nd LCEF Freecycle build approaching completion,

  • Too interesting to pass on this one. Advertised with 700c wheels but the geometry just looked weird, sloping top tube, slack angles. Stuck a 650c front end in and the geo looks spot on :)

Different wheel sizes on the same bike were outlawed by the UCI for 1997 so this must date from around that time (or it wasn't made for competition)

Paint will go for fresh powdercoating...

  • Teh Agree with the saddle though. Something like an Aero or a Concor would suit better. Love those wheels.

great photos and bike man, really nicely done. Saddle isnt the worst thing in my mind but still raving about suede concors

I think I found my new favourite saddle. The Starfuckers track saddle, a cross between Kashimax aero and a Concor. So damn comfortable. Good looking, too.

  • Hawt. You're done.

  • I am indeed done.

Cheers to you and Shinkuu for pointing me to the sale thread for that Starfucker.

  • No problem. I might be tempted to angle the nose down a degree or two to see how it feels (it might be even better). I know I used to have my Aero at a slightly lower angle than that.

  • Yeah, this is pretty level in real life but maybe a slight TM angle would be good. It's damn tricky to get these ones spot on, you know how it is. Will keep fiddling and see what works.

  • Dom are you still coming over tonight? Or going home?

  • He's heading to ours now fam.

  • Changed saddle, drive-chain and added a clamp on brake.

    so nice!

  • I think the red toestraps make the build.

  • Freecycle build coming along nicely, almost done collecting parts!

    I have a pair of not-very-used black rubinos - 20mm though.

  • Lovely colour combo on that frame. Euclid going on this? :)

probably, just need the drive , mechs, hs and seatpost to complete
I have spare bullet shifters, brake levers and cantis' left over from this project

    stripped

the re furb, Saronni Red, chromed headtube lugging, and fork decals

sorry for the poor pic quality, just got it today so I feel shaky, I'm torn between breaking down and crying with joy or knock one out on the strength of it

  • so nice!

hay, thanks! Very kind. Bit of a hodge-podge of parts, but i think it kind of works..... It will do for now...... Have a feeling it will change.

Thanks for the frame..... I have decided to repair the forks, will prob send them to Ellis Briggs. I keep holding back when i ride, I would like to eliminate that nagging feeling.
