I think I've decided on Ultremos for my seta, anyone feel like arguing with me?
Fantastic tyres, but fuck all puncture protection. Had them on my track/commuter a few years ago and loved them until they starting puncturing about 3-4 times a week. I'm getting some more for my track bike, but would never, ever use them for the road.

Not really.
just in case:)

Ah...
I want to use them for longer rides where I'll be carrying spare tubes and for track but do you think even that is pushing them.
I really just want something light and relatively quick. -

I had the morning off so put this together this franken mish mash with bits from my parts bin. things top be changed, longer stem, cloth bar tape, new chain and clamp on front brake...... at some point, new wheelset and chainset.

Just fitted a bigger gear to my TT bike and fiddled with the position a bit. its now running 101". next up, some straight chromed forks with tighter clearance.

Had a nice long ride on this today, lots of fun but don't think I'm cut out for rigid forks... So much more fun, and comfort, with suspension.
Tester has a pair of Fox Talas R's that I'm hoping have enough steerer for me...

which Ultremo's? They're quite different. Go for the R.1's and you will be fine. Enough punctures protection to not puncture while out on the road although you should check them for any embedded pieces of glass every few days, and they roll really smooth.

Have you tried rigid steel forks?

Will do, this isn't going to be a daily bike anyway.
Not really.
