Yeah, I was thinking of trying something like that before I twisted the clamp off with just the saddle as leverage...
I don't think I can hacksaw it as it's a long mtb seatpost and as far as I can tell there's about 25cm of it in the seat tube. It's actually too small(diameter) though - the clamp is pinched at the top - so I'm hoping that means it's less badly seized than the proper size would be and I'll be able to get it out with better leverage. I don't know if that's how it works tho...

Change of tires meant change of where I ride, swapped 35c Ribmo's for 32c Challenge Grifo. Bike got very muddy after visit to Hampstead Heath :)
Definitely needs a lower ratio for off road.Little update on BMW Gangsta. Road tires are back on in (as it's my everyday bike) and change of bars. Nitto B259 were replaced by 3" rise Gusset Open Prison (uncut, 75cm wide) and shorter stem. Also saddle was lowered by an inch or so.
I think this set up is most comfortable so far: -

have you shimmed the bars (22.2mm)? Looks like a Thomson stem(25.4mm)
-

^eagle eye!
It is shimmed, and stem is 25.4!
Before it was 26.0 Thomson with 25.4 Nitto bars and shims 25.4 to 26.0 -

Just bought this. Any opinions on how I should build it up? (geared project - so no swinging dicks)
-
• #72760
What do you want to use it for and how much do you want to spend?
I've alway wanted one of those built 1x10 with carbon risers and a SRAM TT shifter mounted to a Paul thumbie and low profile carbon rims.

I'd seriously consider some handlebars.
The image shows Dildo bars,
For the wife, you see

Hilarious. I sort of though that a custom bike project would be on topic, but I guess it's more about, uh, friendly banter.

Paradriod.
Really like that. Looks to be very well thought out.

my brother is offering me both 28c Gatorskin or 23c GP 4000
I will probably try both
just searching riding Opinions

• #72772
23c gp4000 will ride nicer on the road, gators will be tougher,

Clincher gators are tough as old boots, with a similar ride, and bugger all grip in the wet.
I took mine off the winter bike due to the last point and skidded them to death on my sick fixie
Gotcha, that's a bit different. I bought my pompino as a knackered complete off ebay with a stuck seatpost. Chucked a load of penetrating oil in it, left it over night and then wedged the saddle between the bars of a fence and twisted. It knackered the saddle (which I was expecting) but shifted the seat post.
If it's really stuck you may not be able grip it enough with a vice - have you considered the hacksaw method?
