  • ^what ed said^ Probably cheaper than one of those asymetrical hubs and a better fix.

    It is steel isn't it?

  • Price including the track end as well as braze on removed, £75 last I remember.

  • cool, may consider that. you know what track ends they are?

  • yeh its steel - forks are aluminum. is a small price to play in the long run. Trying not to sell other frame and spend too much here but it seems im gona end up going all out either way.

  • have you thought about putting track end on it and removed the braze-on before sending it to armourtex? Ted from FGL can do it for you for a small fees.

+1 he's workin on my TT to lo-pro now, it's worth it, becase you can have him respace it and fill in the brake holes etc. nice frame though

  • Bare alu forks... look nice but won't ride that well. Maybe £80 Alpina carbon track forks, unless your going to thrash them natch.

For 'ends... Ted will be able to offer some. Or you could source your own... like...

  • Hopefully - work it out like that. if not, then i will be buggered!

Didnt consider that - anyone know the rough price?

i was gona take braze ons myself before taking it down to em.

for me he's swapping the dropouts, filling in brake hole front and rear, removing all braze ons and other gears malarchy for £100 on the dot

cool, sounds reasonable - if i can get him to try and get rear space to 120 then all the better!

    What ends you putting on?

  • the ones he has, i spoke to him about it and he said that buying dropouts might be a waste as you might find they dont fit.

i was looking at these before i spoke to him though

  • true - too be honest, im not too fussed what they are, as long as they safe and secure. What time frame did he give you?

  • he can respace the frame to 120 for you, the track end he supply is simply a normal one (like the one found on Merican), this is the one;

straightforward and simple, does the job.

  • +1 how the dropouts look is least of my worries, as long as they're on straight

  • cheers guy - will make the call some time next week

  • track ends are only a ten spot from hub jub if i recall.

  • The welding is only £50 if you supply your own track end, I think.

  • Mr Postman just delivered these handsome chappies! They are clearly wasted on me and I'll never do them any justice but you're only 25 once and I'd like to think they're an investment. Beautiful. :D

  • and where did yopu got that beuties?

  • lovely, they seem to have the bearing covers as the road hubs do too.

  • They're the road shields. Cliff from Royce and Kowalski from here (thanks to both for answering my incessant questions by the way) recommended them. The road shields and all-weather bearings should keep them running smooth for a while. Plus it should mean more time spent riding them instead of worrying about them! Cannot wait to get them built up. Now to choose rims...

Just bought this frame/fork, cranks, seatpost/saddle etc. Wacked on some wheels from another bike, as well as handlebar and stem from my Mercian (which will soon be changed). Gonna build a new rear wheel with fixed/fixed hub, and then use this for commuting and tricks.

very nice I bought one a week ago, too ;)

  • Cheers, post a pic of yours if you can. Was a bit worried that it was going to be too small for me (i usually ride a 59-60cm and this is 56), but it's turned out better than i thought. Really nippy handling, and decent for tricks - i only wish the handlebars were slightly higher up to make wheelys a little easier. I'm going to try and solve the problem with either a handlebar with more rise, and or, a set of handsome dog type fork with a couple more spacers.

  • Just finished this weekend. c1992 NOS Coppi frame, Veloce gruppo, Khamsin, Cinelli, ITM, Concor, Vittoria....

  • Finished.

Love the simplicity of this. Agree you may need some grips though!
