Current projects fail
Forgot to think about headset interface
Not sure if it's any help, but a wider headset can bridge the gap slightly between the frame & the fork crown. This one is pretty wide.
Although your example is quite, er.. extreme.

I have been looking at the fsa pig for the same reason. it has oversized bearings in the bottom only so should look normal on the top of the head tube.

Spent the afternoon building up a new rear wheel to replace the mangled pringle of a rim that was on there before.
Can finally get a 37 on the back to match the front (there's about 3mm of clearance each side between the tyres and chainstays).
Happy days.

Then you realise wrong, as I suspected. Less fork offset = more trail = slower steering
If it's all about aesthetics (and since the handling consequences of changing from 43mm to 30mm offset are trivial, it might as well be) you'll find you have a much wider choice of fork shapes if you just go with a 43mm road fork. A road fork will also come conveniently drilled to mount a brake caliper, which you will need if you're ever going to ride that bike.
dont underestimate the speed and handling gains from the good looks that come from a fork rake that matches head tube!

What I don't get is, when you to go the Leader website, and look at their fork page, it actually tells you exactly which frames work with each fork... and you still managed to screw it up?!!

D-goods safe to say that picture provided a good amount of laughs at work tonight. Solution is a new fucking fork there a plenty fucking out there. Good luck mate. The bike will look HHSB to max if you sort it

yep...one of the best ways to learn is to fuck things up on a regular basis, so i'm making pretty rapid progress. thanks for comments...and those on the headset, although its never gonna fly. does look like Husum did the same thing, though can't make out what fork he has.
10 posts and not one fork suggestion. wishful thinking.

I probably swore at you a little too much in that post. I was gonna suggest Pistoffski's Dolan road fork he's selling at a fraction of the price but it's 43 rake dunno if you still want to steer clear of that?

thanks...have a 44 option already. just exploring alternatives. as for the swearing, life would be extremely dull without a good dose of OTT profanity.

Here's the one Leader built to go with that frame -

Hi All,
Just started my first build ('07 Specialized Langster Comp) and am on the look out for a set of ss wheels.
I have a set of Gipiemme Tecno 024's (9/10/11 speed freehub) to swap if anyone's interested.
I would post in the classifieds but I'm a new member so am not yet able to.

Just turned a useless old pair of jeans into a budget lock holster:
one's going free, so you can have it for postage but priority to anyone on today's guinness ride...

I really need to get a D-lock, the chain and padlock I'm using may be as secure as fort knox, but damn are they awkward and heavy!

I used to have a Fahg, but my front wheel is too deep hence the NY3000
