Tried on some drop bars, which felt pretty nice after risers. Switching over from another bike with a pretty similar setup (whence I borrowed the drops) I did feel like this may have a bit of tendency to understeer - I've noticed this earlier, too. The frame + forks have a few quirks, namely high BB and high trail.

Are they the track ones? dubs if you sell them would look rad on my road biek.

What steel forks have you ridden on?

I guess they are different feels altogether and hard to compare, but i'd rather ride 1000 miles on steel than carbon any day!

Yeah, they are, hence the pretty high trail with a not-so-steep head angle.

Less rake, don't know about the axle to crown. I've though that the difference is that the track version has a reverse fork end orientation compared to the road version.

Yeah, sorry - as English isn't my native language, I guess it's easy to be misunderstood. I meant that the frame itself doesn't have a very steep HTA, so that combined with the low rake track fork equals high trail.

I don't claim to know what effect that actually has on the handling, but I mentioned it because that's one deviation from what I've understood is considered typical road bike geometry - as I was wondering about the understeering feeling.

Decided to have a bit of fun painting my Aende, it already had a rattle can paint job so i just gave it a more colorful one (its getting a new headset and bb so i just left them in for now)

I keep changing my mind as usual, but thinking of using it as a beater with a basket, risers, clip on mudguards and maybe a 3 speed hub, i can always upgrade to something more sturdy like a steamroller later if i wanted to

Thanks! i'm glad every one likes it, I wasn't sure what i thought of it

was probably being a bit harsh, but it would be nice if people jumping on bandwagons and setting up their own brands like this would at least work harder to add something extra to their product, like I said it could be in a non-physical way. The trick bike companies sponsor riders, make videos and stuff. And they are actually innovating to some extent as they are figuring out what works for that kind of riding.

They rode with us in The Dales when we filmed the North Race launch video, for this (and their general down to earth pleasantness) they earnt my respect. I agree their frames aren't breaking any barriers in terms of technological advancement, I think they just want to produce tasteful/ traditional looking stuff, at which I have to say they are succeeding.

I am not a fan of the colour, it will be repainted when I actually decide what colour I want.

I've got these two bike I'm going to 'mildly' do up and use as eroica-rat bikes

I've started work on them yesterday and I'm in the process of saving the leather saddles... I have take pictures and will add up details later.

Bike 1 - The frame just says Type Olympique, wheels are 700B - Got some cream tyres for it, will give it a good clean and polish then will do the cloth bar tape.

Bike 2 - Captivante Randonneur bike, wheels are 650B - Got some skinwall tyres for it and will just give it a good clean then ride... It also has rear panniers that are awesome.
