Ha. Its another one. Need new tires really.

The pompinos rad. Love it. Got a WI freewheel now and enjoying the noise.

Yeah, pass your gaff most days.

Dibs the rear extendable vent hose sticker.

  • Saucy

  • Dibs the rear extendable vent hose sticker.

    Swap it for your M3.

  • The half black / half silver wheels confused me for a minute there.

    Ha, know what you mean.

Where competitors offer a choice of silver or black, reduced inventory keeps the price of RS30s down :-)

Still having a think about the right bars for my build, i have some straights and drops so will try both, but i wonder if something in between might be a good idea, i've always liked the Lauterwasser Handlebars, but these seem to be a close modern take, anyone ever riden them?

  • If installed as uprights I wouldn't like the parallel aspect of the grips. If installed like a moustache bar, the shape might dictate that you spend more time on the "drops" than you might on a true road bar. Just some thoughts.

  • Yeah i thought that might be the case, but how comfortable would that be for general riding, there is not much flat in the middle so not really an option but to use the drops, all though at one time its all people did, i suppose i was thinking that as its a track frame, but i'm using it for day to day, its a bit of a homage to its real use.

  • i wonder if something in between might be a good idea

Probably not. I quite like the North Road bars on my Pompetamine, but if I were riding for more than an hour I'd take one of my drop bar bikes every time.

  • So the mungo would be a better shape for longer rides?

  • The last time i was a regular rider i used cutdown drops as bullhorns, i was much fitter then so not sure i want to go that direction again, although ive some b123's that i could chop.

  • Don't do that you madman!

    Just ride drops

  • Also while i'm thinking out load, i will be using crankbros 50/50 pedals as thats what i have, but i have seen these big straps that people have on there flat pedals but cant find anyone selling them, might be looking in the wrong place i spose?

  • Don't do that you madman!

Hahaha, are they not just low drop drops?

Sorry miss readr that, dont chop them you mean, sorry, im a butcher. was just an idea. When i did it before my dad wasnt happy either, but then it was his bike! :)

  • Maybe look at some offerings from NItto, Grand Bois, VO. They have varieties of Rando bars that are more comfortable than standard (or especially track) drops.

  • Ive been looking all evening, might have to take a trip to Evans tomorrow and get some in my hands.

  • As for large straps, search harder. Restraps, Hold Fast, the guy on this forum who sells them through the classifieds...they're pretty easy to come by

  • cool thanks

Rando bars look like a compromise betwee full drops and mungos.

You mean the straps on bmx pedals that all the freestyle guys use?

    here...
    here..
    and here.

seen a few on ebay to

  • thanks guys, i was wording it all wrong, no wonder.

  • Randos are much more like full drops than the Mungo. Mungo is just a variation on moustache bars, you can google them for many pics of the available hand positions.
