• That's because you don't understand the concept of a wedge-clamped AHead stem

no, I simply didnt bother checking what it is as I won't be ever needing it.
you can fuck off now.

and thanks oz, never had one.

• Hmm yeah, just googled a bit and I think I'll just get a modern road thomson.

• Get an X2 and be done with it.
They suit wound ups.

• got a cockpit like this to start with and to sort out the correct stem lenght. Most likely going fsa vero and x2.
edit: Bought the stem NOS from my LBS for 35 euros, he he.

• It's not crap. It's kewl

• Using a crushing force to clamp a tube is a poor design anyway

Um... That's how every clamp around a tube works?

• mine just hug.

• This ^

Thompsons are like a finger poking you in the back

• I fucking love those Time stems.

If you want to sell it...PM me.

• I can see why he got such a good price - the decal on the face plate has been put on upside down :-)

• Just did some work on my gf's Peugeot, fitted the full mudguards, tripple ring crankset, new pedals and grips, need to get her a larger and better frame at some point.

also sorted her sister out with this Flanders, which has been nick named 'Ned', it was lying around being useless for ages, it used have drops but the shifters were worn out, just wouldn't stay in gear, so i had all the parts to stick mtb bars on it, so i thought why not

looks stupid with those bars i know, might look better if i flip the stem back over and flatten the bar ends out

also was shocked to find out it had a threadless 1" fork and a 1" A-head stem.

• Do you guys remember this bike? My project from a few months back, It was stollen last night from my balcony (30ft high). Please, let me know if you see it, lock it up and PM me.

Stolen: Kuota Kebel (Custom)

Custom built Kuota Kebel/Road Bike was stolen from my balcony on the 1st floor on Webber Street between the hours of 1:00am and 7:00am on 4th of July.

The bike setup:

Kouta Kebel 55cm Frame, Seatpost & Fork / White with coloured dots and triangles (it's a unique paint)
Mavic Ksyrium Elite Clincher 700C
SRAM Force Groupset with a 28/11 cassette
FSA Plasma integrated compact/ White (custom unique paint)
Fizik Arione / White
Fizik bar tape / White
Bike Computer/ Gamin Edge 800 with Wahoo Sensors

Guys i'm pretty desperate here, I have put so much work on this bike and I would do London to Paris in 2 weeks time on it.

Please, it's quite a unique bike, if you see it, PM me.

• 30ft? Are you sure your neighbours have not pinched it?

• Devastated!

• 30ft? Are you sure your neighbours have not pinched it?

They have used a massive ladder that they left behind. CCTV for the building picked up the action, everything happened before 1:02 and 1:09AM last night I forgot do add the Garmin 800 that was on it also, since I was on the turbo trainer last night.

I'm so pissed off and shocked, at least they left my Alta single speed there, they clearly don't know anything about bikes, if they did they would have stolen the alta with all Dura-ace components on it.

• was it locked up?

• Gutted :(

• fuck, that's one of the nicest bikes i've seen. sorry to hear...

• Dude, that is seriously screwed up. Really hope it gets found. Did you have insurance? Think if that happened I'd be out hunting chavy bike thieves with evil intentions toward their future health.

• ^^ Agree with Apolloxl, hope the fact of how nice it is will enable you to find it easier and get the bastards nicked.

• Can you pick up a signal on the Garmin?

They pretty much can only sell the bike for parts - given it's custom nature as soon as they try to do anything with the frame...

• even seatpost/stem bar are custom...

• was it locked up?

It wasn't looked up, it was attached to my turbo trainer since I was training on the balcony yesterday. I have left my bikes on the same balcony for over 3 year, since the building is new and have all the CCTV/24h concierge bullshit, and it's so damn high, I've never felt that I would need to lock the bike.

The annoying think is that I was looking for insurance for my bikes. Something I don't have now.

•

It's massively upsetting after so much work and money I have put on this bike and so much training on the last year.

• can you link to google maps for a streetview of the balcony?
