Did she inherit the mud too?
Yeah, she complained about having to clean it when building it.

Steve Goff is recommended, especially when you can choose TIG welded and Reynolds 525.

why?
His height and body proportion would look right on a 26" wheel frame as a taller person would on a 700c.

I hate being a small person, my bike looks TINY in the bike shed at work
Altho im starting to think maybe my top tube isn't an ideal length for my proportions as i find myself arching my back in a wierd hunched position after a while -

fair enough.

Did some massive changes on my veneto road bike, replaced the mavic/sachs groupset with some more common shimano groupset for everyday commuting:
And I'm still working on jacky durand's vitus, hope I can post some pictures soon...
Cheers

This, as I struggle to find any commonly available frames/completes with a top tube as short as I need. And if I do, they are intended for extremely short people who require a low standover and seat height. I on the other hand like my saddle very high as I have normal length legs. But the long seatposts screw up geometry.
I have the same sort of proportions as most very tall people, except i am not tall. My legs are longish, torso and arms on the short side. Normal 700c road bikes just dont work for me as far I know.I also prefer the short wheel base 26" wheels would offer, extra manoeuvrability. And I also love the idea of being able to use mountain bike wheels which are much cheaper and robust, especially second hand.
I have no sentimental attachment to 700c wheels or skinny tyres. I think 32c or 1.25" tyres are perfect for anywhere I ride.
One more thing is that I want to ride clipless, but any road bikes I try (my current is a 54cm) have horrendous amounts of toe overlap, as I like to place my midfoot on the pedal. I negotiate corners by moving my foot out of the way, but this is not possible with clipless.

Is the reason for 26" for choices of rims and tyres? Otherwise would suggested 650c (or b).
Edit; missed your comment on MTB rims.

Roberts specialised in such bicycles, I met a couple of people on custom Roberts whom were quite happy at how "normal" their bike feel (I met a bloke who's 5'2 whose bike have a 47cm TT).

Think i might need to get a seatpost that allows me to move my saddle back further in the rails, i keep ending up sat on the back of the saddle and its as far as it'll go

^^26" tourer of some sort?
Long haul trucker?

I am also mad into the optical illusion it would create.
"oh my god, that bike is HUUUUGE........... oh wait "

I'm using a Nitto s83, and it has pretty big set back, which suits me just fine.

Got hit by a car monday night, resulting in a wrecked rear wheel. Hub is fine though.
currently made up out of the following:Mack low flange single fixed
16x sapim laser
16x DT Swiss competition
Kinlin XR-200Thinking about getting it rebuilt the way it was, but I'm just curious if anyone here has any ideas about a possible better setup?

Does anyone know of some risers that have a minimal up and back sweep?
Have found the RaceFace Next XC risers that have 5deg back, and 4deg up sweep, but they cost between £70-90!
I have really broad shoulders, so all this 9deg back sweep nonsense is pretty uncomfortable, especially if I want them cut down to 480mm for traffic.

You could get low-sweep flat bars and a tall stem. Probably wouldn't look as good though.

Mack hub, mmmm.... nice!
Out of interested, why the alternate spokes?

Don't want to replace both if I can just replace the bars!
Plus the stem is Thomson and I like it. -

Driveside - non drive side choice? More strength on the drive side i presume
-
• #63248
Yeah, that makes sense, but which were the strongest?
I assume the DT Competition as they have 2.0-1.8-2.0 butting, whereas the Sapim Lasers are 2.0-1.6-2.0.
Just started building own wheels and want all the info I can get! -

Are you really going to break a spoke on a 32spoke road wheel?, and in the middle?

Got this a few weeks ago but forgot to put it on here. Happy birthday to me.
Great fun, going to make it lighter though, some of the parts are a little.. agricultural.. I will probably never push them near their limit. Different cranks, stem, bars, post, seat, brakes and chain all going on on thursday!
love it what is it?
why?
