Received a more period correct seatpost from Tel last night....
The wife hates the Turbomatic and thinks I should put an old flite or Rolls on it... what's the court of public opinion say...?
Nice to see the post gracing such a lovely machine, big fan of Shorters and this is a lovely example.
However your wife is right get that Turbomatic off there for Gods sake man what was you thinking???!

So so so so so good Wharry, looks out of this world. Hilarious to see you had the Mr Crud chain tensioner thing... who didn't?! :-) Honestly a top job. I want a proper go one day!

^^ Cheers Tel - I'll concede defeat on the turbomatic - seems crazy to have an italia saddle on a san marco post too...
Glad you like the 30's track iron - My 2 brothers & I bought it back in '99 for £150 - a mate was emigrating and the only buyer he could find was a cycle museum - he wanted it to still be used on the road & track so we had to match the museums valuation - nowadays you wouldn't even be able to buy the headset for that on ebay!!! - suffice to say it still gets a good kicking on the track (though we now run Campag record/Nisi wheels for track duty)....

I know roughly fuck all about MTBs but that GT looks the bloody business. Are the brakes made from Meccano?

A little project that belongs to a short friend of mine. It was bought from a forum member a little while back (I think it used to belong to Ldngrrl), cleaned up, and given new cables (and safety levers), tyres, saddle, and tape. As a final touch, I got the saddle stamped by Skully (thanks!) at Muswell Hill jumble yesterday.
I'm rather pleased with it.
Did you get it from Martin? I was under the impression he still had it earlier this year, last year!
Done a pretty good job, shame it was too big for me hence why I didn't put anymore love into it but love it now. -

gear cables are such expensive things : (

Small changes to the "Look";
- Black tyres from partsbin, they look better so I'll buy some new ones soon.
- My goldie oldie 3ttt Forma SL handlebars
- It was slippery yesterday, so I fel while doing 5 mp/h orso, bartape was broken.. changed it to some "carbon look" tape I had in my partsbin.
So now some questions:
- I do have limited money, and I saw a new ITM big one seatpost in the right size, only 20 euro's, should I do it?
- Also about the rearwheel, does a Dura Ace 7600 hub laced to a H+son rim sound good? Have to save for a while, but I think that will look nice.

how much would that rear cost?
-
• #62437
Probably around 120-130 euro's.

Why not consider a bolt-on setup?

Small changes to the "Look";
Is having the front wheel in backwards deliberate HHSB irony, or a mistake?
-
• #62441
Haha a mistake, how stupid ;d
I thought that the sharp part of the spoke had to face forward, to "cut the air" -

tempted to buy myself an argos create/unipack style 'fixie' as a summer project. gradually replace all parts apart from the frameset etc.

I see your logic.
Clearly a tool made to cut a metal pipe at a perfectly perpendicular angle isn't the right tool to cut ...... a metal pipe

that is a terrible idea.

Stop fucking around with bikes and calling it 'projects'. Come and do some group rides with the club.

I had a B43 laced to a dura 7600 hub in the back when i rode that wheel. Looked pretty decent! Dura is the way to go.. Also think about a nice Dura crankset, those Miche's don't do your bike justice ;)

sounds like a good idea, what club are you suggesting?

my other idea was to build up the batavus with all the gears/brakes n' stuff and do some longer distances

It’s obvious there’s more than one way to do cut a metal pipe. Just give the info and let the person who asked decide which way they want to go, simple.
This is bloody beautiful!
