On a geared bike, your transmission is, obviously the gears.

On a fixed wheel bicycles, your legs is the gears.

Just taken the new bike out for a ride and it feels great! Gearing is quite high and it is a pain to stop without the brake, but ill learn.

Apparently i need a lockring to keep the cog from slipping, is this correct (pic to show below)?
