  • Stripped and polished the risers this morning, much prefer them now to the white...

No spok - no talk. Needs carbon spokz. And black risers with black strong v grips

  • EEI, would you recommend that foldable to someone looking for a cheap commuter? I have a friend looking and the price seems o.k..

  • Yep, I've tried it and it can get to a quite decent speed. Gears are smooth. I'd say go for it, especially if you can get Boardwalk on sale (Sram gripshift as opposed to shimano shifters in Parkway).

Not quite there. It really needs double Spokk ot Hed trispoks to be a pure porn.

  • It kinda looks like Murtle's Geek.

  • shit just got real in my living room

    nice! whats the blue frame?

    p.s. nice table

  • Needs more wheels.

  • My god that concorde is beautiful

  • yah, full of stars an' that.

    You jelly?

  • Finished my 65 Cinelli Pista

  • before the Brits wake up, I tell ya - it's full of win, well done

  • One day I'll but that frame off you, whether you'd like me to or not.

ehehe maybe. it is currently pursuing my hhsb dreams, but once i'm done with it... PM the dimensions of the frames you ride

  • that headtube logo tells a story of its own!

  • ^^^^ thank you for not respraying that Cinelli. Perfect patina.

  • You jelly?

Not really. Folder will be a wheel keeper for a ti mini-velo skidder with a belt drive. Watch this space.

  • The red tape works really well on the Cinelli, and the paint makes it look all vintage and awesome.

Talking of tape, Fizik microtex soft touch feels sweet when it's wet I imagined it to feel really soggy and sponges, impressed.

  • Does that picture embed? - I've never been able to do that...

Anyway, by no means is the build finished (tape, cables, pedals and it's crying out for a black seatpost), but this is the first of the frames I've made that I've actually built into a bike... and I've just ridden it around the block... and it didn't collapse!

I can't really describe what it's like to ride, it's pretty light though, as I was just chuffed that it didn't give me a faceful of tarmac as I dropped off the curb. More miles to put on it before I feel completely at ease with it I guess!

Wheels from Mikec, bits and bobs from shed / MisterEd.

  • Seat is really wrong. But you've made the frame yourself? Nice!

  • Yeah - the seat / seatpost will be changed - they're borrowed from my mercian (where they look a bit more suited :)).

Built the frame in the garden and had a bit of a go at building it up this morning to get it ready for a sportive in three weeks :)

Looks better than i was expecting!

  • Hang on... you built the frame in your garden? I'm impressed!

  • Toe overlap?

    Why such compact geo?

  • I don't think there's any toe overlap, not tried it with my cleats yet so there may be a bit.

The geometry is copied from the Condor carbon race frame (forget the name, but they have a doc on the internet somewhere with a helpful diagram of the angles / tube lengths). The rest of the tubes were put in place on RattleCAD until I got something I liked the look of.

To be honest (and don't get me wrong, I'm not attempting to make any grand claims of my skills here - some of the brazes are a bit messy close up) I was inspired by the way the English frames look.

  • Should be super plush with a carbon or ti seatpost. Maybe.

Well done BTW, quite an achievement.
