There goes a rideable version of my Courtois.
so 1978 Bernard CARRE frame,
went from huret to Simplex gears,
Gipiemme cranks and pedals
Universal model 77 brakes and DA brake levers(until i get fresh universal hoods)
a saddle my arse loves
a longer 3ttt stem and Gimondi-like ITM drops.might add later lower gears (52X14 are good lookin',but i'm more a spinner than a pusher) and a clincher wheelset shall i use it for commuting duties.
BR,
Marguerite DA

pop a pair of wheels on it plus a long seatpost in the seattube
stand it up and using a spirit level measure the distance c-t-c seatpost to headtube
this virtual t-t measurement should be 600 ish for an xl (590 - 610)

Ready for Fixed TTs
Well apart from a small gearing change that's happening this week.
These bikes, are fucking awesome.
Really makes me want to do another build, guess the lady friend is going fixed! -

Nice photos = bike looks even better
I wonder what Pengy would look like with some thought given to exposure and appropriate use of some nice filters.
-
• #59388
Agreed, a shit camera/shot doesn't do them justice, e.g.
-
• #59389
Well, somewhat...
The pics of that Bob Jackson are lovely, make great parts look even better

Pengy
First result on google image search, ahead of about a million cartoon penguins. The bike might be shit, but it has entered the global consciousness -

Wish I knew what Pengy was before replying...

Is that yours now?

I'd like that even more if the white stripe was straight all the way through the frame. As it is it looks a bit random.
-
• #59394
It was supposed to be (I probably still have the original drawing showing it somewhere), but Rourke's paint shop was a bit random back then.
-
• #59395
It's better on this one
and on this one
all three were built and painted from the same drawing, and they all came out different. -
• #59396
That was very confusing before the edit
Wait there was no edit, at first it was showing the same pic twice nm
-
• #59397
Ninja edit, I pasted the img code and forgot to change the file name first time around
-
• #59398
ahh i see if you edit quick enough does it not display the notification that the message was edited?

Is that yours now?
Yeah, purely a good weather bike that I'm not doing any justice by my lack of all things TT

So true dammit! Did i get the bum frame of the lot then??

You got the one with the fork painted per drawing. The chrome forks on the other two were not requested, and might not be a good idea on 753
