  • A quick session of Using The Fucking Search brings this up.

Bar and headtube mounted is the way forward for light loads, otherwise the steering suffers a bit.

  • heavy alu fixed frame = super stiff trackbike?

  • I re-sprayed the replacement frame for the Ciocc last week.... Put a gloss 2k top coat on now though, and left it to cure over the weekend.... Just picked up some Super Record bits for it too.

  • That's looking great Rob

  • awesome paintjob.

  • i love the fork ;)

  • Best Felt paintjob ever? I do think so.

(Have there ever been a nice Felt paintjob?).

  • They usually ruin it with the frame model in a silly design on the top tube.

  • yeah but that's not really comparable is it. its matt black with a sticker.

colourway above > matt black > this:

  • ^Tru dat

  • Can't see much wrong with this DA

it's black with a felt logos.

Okay new challenge, show me a raw carbon bike that doesn't look good with the manufacturer decals on it.

  • I got the Idea from the Felt BMX logo:

I just asked Wayne to knock me up a quick .EPS in a cross between that, and the Intersection Magazine font.
The rest is inspired/ripped off from the new Condor Super Accacio paint scheme, but done in my club colours.
I'm no designer, just good at stealing other peoples ideas!

  • Hoops am i seeing things or were the seat tube bottle cage nuts sprayed over?

  • Black paint, black bolts

  • Well that's what I'm hoping at least

  • They were just random M5 (or maybe M4, can't remember) machine screws put in the bottle boss' to mask the threads.
Quickest way of masking threads off for painting.

  • I got new wheels

  • ^^ah I see!

  • ^^ Very nice. PX wheels?

  • yup.

  • Not sure if I asked already but. Anybody using Shimano hollowtech cranks for fixed? a la on the big ring with single chainrings

  • USE make a track chainring specifically for 105/Ultegra/DA HT2 cranks, so I guess somebody must be doing it. General comment on HT2 road cranks for fixed use would be the same as for other external BB road cranks - it can be a PITA to sort out the chain line.

  • I ride a fixed mtb for polo.

I had RaceFace Evolve XC cranks in a BB70 external bb, but the RF ones use a drive side bolt+cap. I've replaced them with FSA Motor cranks which use the same offside pinch clamp as Shimano.

Normally on a 68mm shell these mtb externals use a 2mm spacer on the left and 2mm + 1mm spacers on the right. I'm running both 2mm spacers on the left. I,m using a Salsa single ring on the middle ring position, mounted backwards for an extra mm of shift.

This seems to line up well with the 1/8th chain and 1/8th sprocket on an Echo trials hub.

Might be easier with road HT2 cranks!
