Super light weight innit? You only need the teeth which are engaged during the power phase.

You're building a girlfriend from bike parts? Don't forget to use lots of lube.
Joking aside it's looking good and cheap.

Your girlfriend is cheap, battered and been turned away for nothing by most of the forum.

Without doubt.
-
• #56185
how much minimum should I be looking at ?
-
• #56186
you can always face the headtube...
-
• #56187
here below the HS top cap wouldn't even engage the threads. the HT was faced and voila!
-
• #56188
But that's starting from a difference between headtube and steerer of >30mm
-
• #56189
It'll be fiiiine.

Tange Passage is low for a threaded headset at 30mm

mine seems to stack up at around 35mm
seems like i need about 205-210mm of steerer? (175mm headtube)

That's typical.

Aim for 210, but 205 is workable if you're prepared to factor in the cost of that low stack headset. You can go a little bit longer by inserting a spacer between the top cup and lock nut, but not too much or you might run out of thread.

thanks, as always.

That's lovely.
The lever is kinda goofy but it's where you want it to feather when spinning down hills. I'd keep it.
This. You'd not want to shift your weight forward to use the brake- esp downhill!

Right. I'm going back to aluminium, ordered this one which will arrive some day in March.
Now I'm shopping for parts, I already have most Dura Ace 7800 bits together (stil looking for a new front derailleur though, anyone?)
So I'm looking for some advice which (press fit?) BB to buy with this frame and these cranks
PF30/BB30?
Then you need these:

Or maybe use one these monstrosities. They are amazing to use but just not so nice on the eye:
Originally built for tri athletes so your ride position is set forward.
