You're just saying that because we met at the hipster parade.

something always a bit odd about brakeless bikes with rear tires that dont last for skidding...

Still looking for a nice front break. When I've got that one fitted instead of the current MAFAC, I'll be done for now. Then go out for some testing on the gearratio(reason why the cassette is still in place) and order some new wheels @ Varno. All silver ones, 30mm high I guess.

Close though!

Do you work out of a dungeon?
Your Brodequins and Branks are wisely out of sight... -

Those nice Brooks covered bars could do with rotating back a little bit.
Really tidy frame.

Yeah it will. This however gave me some more space to work. Any thoughts about a possible brake?
I'll need a long reach to make it to the rim.

Are things mostly 70s era?
A Mafac is probably about right. Otherwise a generic Tektro dual pivot thing.
Anything other than box section rims will make it look like an OTP 'fixie' IMO.

The Mafac brakes are great brakes, and usually well slough after too, once set-up correctly I reckon it'll be more than enough for you.

Also anyone know why the picture is so blurry...? Am I doing a dumb?
Its much clearer off LFGSS for some reason. -

Yes, all of the parts are 70s era. These will however be replaced with Campagnolo parts, all in good time.
I like the look of these 30mm rims, give the bike a bit more volume. I've still got the original Mavic which came with the bike so it's always possible to change the wheels.

Allright then, I'd might give these beauties a polish then.

After 5 months of waiting, my custom Mercian frame arrived last week, and I built it up with the parts I have been collecting for the past few months. I have already put several hundred miles on it. The wheels are Royce/Open Pro Cd, built by Jim at Brixton Cycles. It feels very fast, very smooth, and I'm very, very happy with it.

Very very tidy, tiddy... but why the rear wheel slammed all the way into the ends?
That never looks good to me, and it must be a bitch to take the wheel off. : S -

oh, saddle needs a tiny tilt and it'll look perfect.

I love that Brooks Colts are available again and are making their way onto bikes. They are rad.

It's proper lovely that Mercian.
I'd rotate the bars forward a smidge.
