1st wheel build:
profile: open pro cd
same on rear:
tmw i'm taking some daytime photos, to show it off better- the hubs aer more likle the bottom photo than the top.
the gran compe tyres are very low profile, so will allow me to fit a brake, and then I'm getting a bullhorn with george sportif's green/purple fade tape.I'd hoped this would have come for the tweed ride, the build today was hilarious, nothing was standard sized at all.
1930's entirely Chater Lea bike (my hack/ chore bike):
again daytime photos will be taken...
gran compe tyres in purple when did u get them from

looks very lovely....the only thing that bothers me and is, that its a lo pro and your stem is way high up. Get it all the way down to the headset, thats the point bra
True that! I think I saw (Harry Major) you riding down Old St past curtain rd yesterday. Looks well nice!

Hi all finished this last week and sucessfully completed its maiden voyage to West drinks and then the Tweed Run without anything falling off!!

http://i67.photobucket.com/albums/h320/Mullerbugs/IMG_2839.jpgIts a Bridgestone Keirin frame, the decals are in White so its hard to see them against the pearlesant paint. It my second project the other being a beater replica Merckx.
I'm aware of the frying pan Sugino Zen too, pointed out by some at Wests! I have changed it to a 19 sprocket from the original 15 i bought for the tweed run and it felt fine. For some reason i must have thought i was the incredible hulk but am planning to change the front ring in future to something a little smaller.
Thanks to Dale (Dogsballs) i got the wheels sorted for the Tweed run after my failed first attempt to wheel build, the picture of bewilderment on Dales face when i went to pick them up was priceless, lets just say i wont be giving up my day job!
Anyhows the names Shane so if you see me around dont be scared to say hello.

i sill can't get the idea of a ivory white bob jackon out of my head though!should i build up the gazelle or sell it and buy a new bj?
can't make my mind up
already have the following - brooks b17, profile bubs/open pro wheelset, sugino 75 chainset

I haven't done this for 2 reasons; one is that I might frighten new members who don't know me and might think I was showing off, and the other is that there are still three to be finished.

@dale, what ya got on the go now?
@mullerbugs, i commented on the lovely bridgestone on sat. -

Beater project undergoing some cosmetic change (removing the drivetrain, clearing up some mess etc.)
it should be a beater/town bike with a front rack, I'm keeping the 27" wheel but adding a singlespeed kit with lots of spacer.
Hey Ed I've got a singlespeed conversion kit lying around, plenty of spacers and 16t and 18t cogs, and a lockring.. if the wheels are 27inch then itsnt it more likely they wont have a freehub though?

Woooh.. finally got my Planet X Pro Carbon Track on the road this morning.
Compared to my steel-trackbike it's noticeably lighter and the disc+4spoke-combination with 21mm tubs is really easy to spin up.. the 48:17 gear seems almost too light.. I have been used to riding Marathon Plus's for some time though.. so everything is light compared to that.
21mm Tufo S33 Special's are not that great for grip though.. tried skidding just to check the "stopping power" and my conclusion was that I'll have to be a carefull brakeless rider on that bike.. ;)
Also one more note on the clearance of the Planet X fork.. When rolling slow the last kilometer before reaching my destination this morning I could hear salt-flakes being crushed between the front tyre and the fork"crown" .. damn' thats tight..
The project is not done yet, the stem I got with the bike is a bit too short, and the handlebar feels a bit soft.. So I guess I'll try out a borrowed longer stem, and then perhaps get something oversize.
