I've never accidentally pulled my old cane creek dummy lever thinking it was a working one, despite it feeling the same in my hand as the actual lever.
Oh well...guess PTFE isn't the solution then. -

Once is enough, when doing the job properly in the first place with stainless steel rod is barely harder than using plastic.

How about a 15g spoke then? My spoke threader could extend the threading on that, it's capable of both 14 and 15. Would the 1.8mm size work? 10BA seems to be 1.7mm.

It is a New Zealand made Bauer frame, luged columbus max. It was built back when Bauer were good and hadn't shipped everything off shore. Now they make cheap generic mountain bikes and road bikes.
nice! really like the tubing on that frame. what size is it? if you ever selling it, keep me in mind ;)

How often do experienced cyclists find themselves in situations where they are having to panic brake to the point where they actually forget that only one of their levers is a working one? Honestly?
True, not very often. But when your friends try your bike out, or when your locking it up, the levers do get moved.
Fwiw, I just use a short section of brake cable with wood glue skewered down the brake cable. It's ok. But it does have the advantage of not leaving a cable groove on one side of the bars and not the other...which I find surprisingly annoying.

My solution for a spare brake lever.
- Get some grey polysulphide mastic (lead sealant).
- Squirt some up inside the lever, filling the area inside the hood. (GO EASY)
3.Tidy up any excess with a wet finger. - Wait 48 hours for the mastic to cure.
- Go ride your new, rock solid, rattle free lever.

Nice one psee, good looking build.
I like the look of those Arundels cages. On my recent search for a nice cage I bit the bullet on one of Nitto offerings.

The nitto one is beautiful.
the price tag isn't.
went for king cage in the end, look good and priced just right.

Agreed, that's why I only have one...
King Cage was in my mind for my Singular. They do that little tool pouch holder you can sandwich inbetween as well right?

Finally got around to take a shot of my bike. It's a Pelizzoli Leggenda custom built with a 1 1/8" head tube and bsa bb. Wheels are temp, other than that pretty much done.
Nicest ride I've seen in a while. Rep.

I see what you did there, we both have a thing for raw bikes aye? Believe me, as it tarnishes it'll only get more beautiful! What make is the frame, a Gazelle AA-Special?

Im not too sure where to ask this but it sorta relates to projects so I'll ask here.
Im building new wheels and im thinking of using a front mtb hub instead of a 'track hub' since the rim is disc only and ill be able to use that wheel on other bikes with a disc brake, it would have to be quick release because my fork has 10mm ends. But i heard of quick release bending fork ends, is this true? has anybody experienced this? -
• #50021
Quick releases are fine unless you don't do them up properly, then you usually end up with a damaged face then not damaged forks.
