  • you need a bmc.

  • what groupsets you chaps going for?

  • Sram force

  • I said it first now you can't have it Marcus.

  • Not turned up yet, by the looks of it I should get it some time next week.

Its this model, did actually consider the one you ordered but decided that I wanted something a bit more simple.

Totally saw the same BMC as yours in my size on ebay and nearly bought it!

  • Got a sram rival groupset off braker with force brakes, just need to find cranks. Was going to go for apex before hand, trying to keep the build as cheap as possible

  • I call deda bars/stem/seatpost seeing as I've already ordered them!

  • you need to get a fade now henry

  • wheels?

  • you definitely should have bought it. It took me so long to decide which one to buy. I wanted one with a small carbon pattern, straight forks and matching seatpost. The one I did get won me over because of the shape of the top and down tubes. I originally wanted a integrated seatpost but didn't want to pay considerably more for it.
You can have deda, I'm going full chinese carbon combined stem/bars and seatpost.
I'm looking for a used Force group but I can get it at trade price so will prob be around the same anyway.
Haven't decided on wheels. Might go for cosmic elites or some ITM ones I can't remember the name of.

  • Fair enough. Reading up on all the builds on road bike review people deemed to drop so much money on bars, stems, seatposts and bottle cages along with the frames that it seemed to kill a lot of the cheapness. Probably will upgrade bits once I have more money.

Definitely considered the FM015 seeing as its probably the nicest looking / highest spec frame, but couldn't justify the extra £100, that'll go on road shoes/pedals.

Probably would have bought the bmc, but i had no money at the time!

  • I don't like the pencil thin seat stays on the FM015. I also can never find these frames by numbers on ebay. There seems to be a few common ones then shit loads of variants.
If this one works out ok then I'm going to build one for Scoot.
There's a BMC matching mine, apart from with ugly shimano bits, in 56 on ebay at the mo.

  • so will the bmc be your beater? or carbon beater?

either way chevrons to you, you git

  • Yeah, all the sellers use whatever name they feel like it seems. With a bit of searching you can pretty much find any of the frames in any weave with whatever add ons you want. Took me a bit of time to find that frame in that size in 3k weave and decide it was definitely the one I wanted

  • I could've sworn you sold your pro winner due to poverty, now you splash crabons all over the place?

Thought steel was reel? sumo, you've changed...

  • I sold the pro winner to pay for half the BMC, student loan paid for the other half. I'm working a bit more at the mo, so I've still got no money because all of it goes on bills/rent or bike bits.
I still love steel, and still want the pro winner back.

  • I wasn't being too serious, I'm maybe a little jealous down to the lack of crabon and excess of real steel in my life right now...

    steel is real, real flexy...

  • Almost, almost finished this build. Jan Janssen Vitus frame from the forum, with 600 Tricolor 'set from the forum.
Took it for a trip up the hills around Forest Hill/East Dulwich today and it rides like a dream. With payday will come new rear wheel, shifters and levers.

  • Nice - you might want to look at the cable outer lengths though, the rear brake cable outer is much too long (see Sheldon).

  • Or just pull the cable so there's more cable in the front instead.

  • Looks like internal routing. If not, then that ^ will work.

  • my 5 bag Ortlieb setup arrived last week and I installed my thumbies/Love levers. This month I'm sorting gearing and wheels then the bike is done bar maybe some steerer-lengthening by Ted.

  • $$$

    nice though

  • $$$

    nice though

not too bad on trade. Still a little painful

  • Better pic in the outside sunshine. The saddle does point a little downwards, but I think that is because my driveway is a slope.

Now to find a nice gazelle pantographed stem... ^^
