So close with my vintage road bike project! Got the NOS lever hoods in the post at work...
Just needs cables + chain + decisions:
Saddle: Selle Italia Professional vs. yellow Turbo
Seatpost: Selcof vs SR
Handlebars: Cinelli 65-42 vs. 64-40
Stem: Cinelli old logo short vs. newer logo long
Drivetrain: Campagnolo SR vs Shimano 600 arabesque.I got distracted during the 'procurement phase'... but the whole lot has cost me same as a 2009 langster. hahahaa!
Where did you get the hoods from and for how much? I've been looking for some, but it is not easy to find a bargain!

That frame built for 27's?
And the Charge Whites should be a nice touch. -

no i doubt it, not too much clearance on the rear...
had slight trouble finding make and model, to my delight turned out to be a motobecane mirage. 1977.piece. -

They just sacked a load of their US workforce; lookout for clearance bargains or the new made in Taiwan range...
I didn't know that>
Have just decided on which wheels to buy and found an awesome deal on a pro-lite galileo frame.
It's going to cost far too much for the full build but I figure fuck it, I like nice bikes. -

Got my bits back from Armourtex. Its a dead good job. The pink isn't as nice as I had hoped. Its not bright enough to be bright or baby enough to be baby pink. But I'm Happy enough. Hopefully have it all finished by Sunday/Monday at the latest. Pictures to come when I'm done. Woot.

After a nail biting wait, the photoshop mock ups paid off, i couldn't be happier with my colour choice and simplicity.
So what next? My idea is black, white and silver accessories.
Any ideas?

I recently Knocked these up, haven't had a chance to test them out yet, but they certainly won't cut your foot in two, they're hella beefy. Just need some washers yet to strengthen the holes a little, although it's pretty damn strong seat belt with holes melted through to seal the fibres.
These are pretty much what I've just added to the polo bike, except I went for leather.
I found that using a little bit extra length meant I could bolt through both the holes you usually use for the cages, on both sides of the pedal (4 bolts per pedal), for extra strength.
Have had no problems so far and I've been really going for it at polo.
I'll try and post pics sometime.

The second part of my upcoming road bike build.
Had money in my account, now I have a lot less.Still, I have to ensure I build a lighter bike than Scott's storck (just to upset him mind)
-
• #4819
You should make it fixed, Object .. buy a really light track frame.
-
• #4820
I already have a beautiful track bike. This one is going to be geared to fuckery and for long long rides (Needs to be done seing as Scott has a road bike which is begging to be taken on proper rides and the newest member of Grobag Towers also has a road bike that he mourns not being able to ride enough).

Consider your face well and truly slapped by my glove......i accept the challenge bitch!

Better get your bike on the scales and cut down the excess seat post whilst you're at it.
-
• #4823
Your bike is fatter than my sister.
-
• #4824
i heard your bike comes even cheaper than your sister!

Only you would know.
I've just missed out on buying this on ebay so have taken that as a sign that I should be building from scratch.
So far I've bought a saddle, I think there's a long way to go.
