It's not 10mm, but that crossed my mind too on first glance.
Looks like it could be 42/16, which is sensible gearing for a daily driver even if most of us would get the same gear with a bigger ring/sprocket pair.

Your trippin dewd. The gearing is 40x15, seems fine for normal use, I only went for this gearing as I had a 40t chainring and it made sense just to met a 15 rear rather than buy new both. Pretty nice to ride although I'm going to get rid of that silly stem and get a pearl.

i like the stem better than the saddle angle...
whole bike would look million times better with a 48t chainring... give it what it deserves!

mega-fail last night! totally spoiled my night, day, week and mood in general
fucking stupid DA7400 headset, which was supposed to fit straight on, as it used to be the stock part for the frameset, has too big of a stack heigth, leaving the top lock nut with basically nothing to screw on on the fork steerer! ((((((((( now i'm bummed out, don't want to switch the headset, so either have to somehow file the adjustable and lock nuts (FUUUU) or maybe take the cups out and have someone face the headtube really heavily for me - again, how not to waste the paintwork that way? (FUUUUUU)
any thoughts on that matter?

7400 (also in the post, go get your morning coffee), but according to velobase, this is the one with one of the lowest stack height, 36.3mm, all others are 37mm and above

Fucks up the trails though and gives the haters the ammunition they want.
Not clever.
All depends where you live I guess. The horses make more of a mess of the trails than any bike could in my area. I also try to 'flow' and even now when riding SS I rarely use the brakes.
So still big and clever in my view. Much less to worry about, especially when cleaning all the muck off after every ride.

Tange do several models with 30.2mm stack height. Good, but not nearly as silky as DA cartridge bearings.

The mega-fail was by the numpty who cut the steerer too short, not you.
If it has to be Shimano, there is a version of 105, second one here;
