Just don't put your self in situations where you will struggle to stop
I guess you rode fixed with no clips? if you got some decent clips, straps and shoes and gave it a few weeks I'm sure you will start to like it
When i ride it as Fixed Gear, it was with clips (decent? maybe not, maybe yes) :)

Progress on the nasty/nostalgic mid 90s mtb.
4 solid days, 2 tins of nitromors, 3 rolls of wire wool, 8 sheets of wet & dry, 2 wire brushes, 2 tubes of autosol, countless rags and 10 bleeding fingers, and we have BLING!filed out some of the welds around the GT badge and bridge.
You do realise this will turn a flaky grey again in a heartbeat?

Fuck. I just picked up an old steel frame of mine from the local sandblaster. Some slight rustpitting, but nothing serious. Take it home, do some minor filling with chemical metal, sand, dust it off, wipe it with acetone. Thought I'd just start out by spraying the fork using some Hammerite Direct-to-metal primer-paint-and-topcoat-thing. Weather's nice and warm. Humidity is fine. Shake the can like a maniac and start spraying. Paint runs everywhere. It's milk-like and runny as fuck. And a single can costs £15! Was so looking forward to putting it all together tonight...

Not quite sure how to phrase this, but has anyone ever supplied a tubeset to a builder, and given them a set of specs etc. and had something custom made? Do builders do this? Or do they solely work with their own provided tubes?

What makes you say that.
Just a wipe with some autosol every month should be enough shouldn't it?

Sorry for being blunt, but that is bollocks.
+1!

Aluminium or whatever it is made out of will oxidise.
Paint and anodizing prevent oxidising of metal
But yes autosol will clean it up nicely -

Is it me or does there seem to be a lot of negativity on this thread at the moment?
Is everyone suffering from alcohol withdrawal symptoms at work after 3 weeks of beer and bbq?

My KHS Aero Track
It's horrible, it looks like a cut and shut job.
It does seem strange, but maybe it's the angle:

Please don't, tedious and plenty discussed.

No you're a cunt.
just kidding. The fact that people are getting arsey about someone setting their bike up in a less than safe manner, just shows how loved up we all are.
If Oman's bike had a front wheel to match the front it would be badly photo'd porn IMHO. I like most of the bikes on here more than those on the porn thread. I just got bored of posting 'thats nice mate'.

I said rear is slightly better, but still recommend having two whole brakes.
In other news, I pick up a cheap runabout for Copenhagen, managed to haggle the price down from 2400 to 1900 (£229) while they throw in a rear wheel lock.
It does the job pretty well as a bicycle, shame we don't have those kind of bicycle in London;

Very smart bike Ed.
That's what the Ken bikes should have been IMO. [edit] except build in Stratford by Pashley.

Tis'nt though honestly. Ask someone that works in a bike shop.
