Nice nice, very nice.
I'm buzzing as I just found out a huge local trails spot has been rebuilt over the winter, can't wait to dust off the P3 and the shovel and get involved.
Thanks, the frame is a bit of a chunky monkey but it'll do the job. Hoping to upgrade it to a Dartmoor Ghetto when more funds come my way. Enjoy those fresh trails, I know I'll have to do some digging. I remember seeing your GT and Bob jackson in varoius threads, but have you posted the P3?
I'll be heavy, no doubt. And agreed, it would be easier to make new stays. But that would mean i would have to know fillet brazing (which I dont) and have to get hold of seatstay tubes and brazing rods which is a little expensive.
I already have all the tools and materials I need (exept a front fork) for this project, all of which I got for free thanks to a friend. After all, this project is mostly for fun.
For some reason I presumed that you'd be using it for serious training where ever gram matters.
Best of luck with it, there's no better reason to start a project other than just fun.

Not a great photo but this is the P3
Basically on other side there's a e thirteen chain device/bash guard, and an ultegra short cage rear mech.
Yeah 24 inch rear, 26 front, bit old school but rides sweet, manuals forever. Really needs some new forks, but don't know when I'll have the spare funds.
Due a bit of a service this week so will clean it up and get a better picture.
As I said before always been a fan of those Azonic frames, if I were spending money would probably get a different fork, those steel stanchions are not light.

... seems to have left you with a perilously small amount of trail....
Just measured the current trail. Its 46.3mm given a 30 mm rake fork. Assuming the old fork would have had a rake of around 45mm and HT angle of 75 deg, the trail would have been 42.9 mm. Seems reasonable to me. What do you recon?

You did the whole front rim and mudguard with a sharpie?! Ha ha, Love it and worth the effort I'd say.

my orrell version 1.2
-new wheels
-new gear ratio was 48-17, now its 15
-drop bars instead of bullhorns.all i need now is a new saddle and orrell stickers made and its done.

rode with 48-17 for a while and ive never had trouble stopping...is it really that much harder? -

I used 48 - 15 at the track day. It's 84 odd gear inches, wouldn't fancy having to skid on it.

well thanks for the warning i guess..went to a 15 because its pretty flat here and i felt that i had overspin when riding fast.
lets see how this goes.

for comparison, 48 - 17 is 74 gear inches. It's a lot of difference.
It's pretty flat here too, and I ride 48-19 or 49-19... -

Just upgraded my front Avid BB7 cable-pull brake for the Avid Juicy hydraulic one, felt so much better.
the BB7 I have were a constant problem as it squeal non-stop despite constant adjustment and change of rotor, it's wonderful to not have a squealing brake in the wet anymore.

^^i wouldn't go for a ratio bigger than 3 when riding in the city, your knees may hurt and its not functional at all.

woulndt say super sonic ;)
but i still have to go and try it out on longer rides through the city..if it doest feel save ill go back to 17.
it was a tryout only anyway.
