I'll probably flip the stem.. Concorde in the background is also a Current Project as in beater runaround.. And the flash on the front wheel is because the guy I bought the wheel from found it a safe idea to add some reflective tape on the two silver spokes in the wheel.. I'll run it like that in the beginning.. Will probably upgrade to a pair of 24/32 Macks when I feel like treating myself.. But take will take a while a) financial and b) queue time at Mack wise..

I do some long rides on it so they give me the most riding postions. Drops are just not practical.

Well, had a round round some forums.. Was intending to do it myself, but apparently Nitromors isn't available in Holland anymore.. There's a guy on marktplaats selling the spray on stuff, but that's not that good as the brush on and with postage it would be about 15 euro's.. Then on some mountainbike forum someone mentioned a company pretty near here (Eindhoven->Uden, hour bus ride, I can't carry two frames on my back on my bike) that does all that work for you for about 20-25 euro's a frame.. I rang, guy was cool, come along someday, no prob.. I rather pay a weeny bit extra to be sure it get's done properly and professionally then spending an afternoon on a frame, screwing up my lungs and still have the risk it fails..
I'll also have my roadframe done which I intend to build up as a tourer for summer..

Road bike has dropped from 8.3kg to 7.8kg, hopefully with the next few changes we can hit the target weight of 7.5kg *fairly *easily.
To get down to 7kg would take serious money I think.

getting there... new wheels, some paint details

your stem is too low by about 4 mm. should come out of the steerer straight like.

In the next couple months...
Why the Devolution Ed? Are you changing forks on the Sherpa, or has it come with an 1" steerer?

Excuse my lazyness:
why are two spokes on the upper left of the picture reflecting camera flash?

Removing a full 500ml water bottle doesnt count.
What have you done so far.....?
A alu cassette could save you 150g, and only costs around £50. Doesnt last very long though, and if you do a lot of shifting under load, can loose teeth.
The best way to loose weight is by making hundreds of small savings. The most enviromental and pocket friendly way to do this, is to replace parts which wear anyway. Chain, cables, etc.
I'm still trying to build a 2Kg frameset (F+F+SP) into a UCI illegal bike. Reckon I could do it based on claimed weights. So I just wont weigh the finished bike, and live in blissful ignorance.

Just changed the rotating stuff, trans comes next.
7.5 here I come- this would be easier if the frame was smaller I think.

liking the paint job(rust?) - how was this done?

Looks nice Eddie but a bit of a waste of a very nice stem just my opinion.

all that effort and you don't tell us the before and after weights
