I know, I know.
It's almost all jealousy from my side.
But for the rest the blog is all crap IMHO. And I don't like his actual Ebay behaviour (not only his though), so it's not all luck. -

Just built this up for the winter. Not pretty but'll hopefully do the job. Bigger tyres and mudguards to go on by the time the weather starts to turn

I always think Pompinos would suit Kona P2 forks.
Or a Geekhouse fork to match the stays.
-
• #34935
nice pompino, great workhorse that...
-
• #34936
Cheers chaps. If I change anything it'd definitely be the fork, the only bit of bad workmanship on it (cantilever bosses welded on unevenly)
Otherwise quite happy with it and it was pretty cheap (second hand frame and just moved parts across from my old winter bike)
-
• #34937
Do the pompinos have fittings for a rear rack?
-
• #34938
think so, yep.
(unless they've changed it since I last saw 1) -
• #34939
They do (mine does anyway!)

Geekhouse fork would be top, they already have that kind of fork on their other bike.
I dearly hate the fork on the Pompino, so when I get mine, I'll try and get a Surly Crosscheck fork for cheap, paint it white and volia;

I'm looking at a pompino too, reckon fixed with a disc brake on the front could make the ultimate winter commuter. I think the new one has the dropouts spaced to take geared hub, so could be a fixed commuter, with the option to throw in a geared wheel (and back brake) when the weekend rides call for it. Would be a bit of a faff changing over, but still, i like the idea of a do it all bike

Finished my latest project looking forward to riding it tommorow.Cheers to Gizmond for getting the wheels to me so quick.

on an unrelated note, that looks like an awesome litttle room with the stairs going from a living space to a more utilitarian room. This makes me happy.

Technically a Pompetamine rather than a Pompino. I need to get rid of a couple of mountain bikes to make room for one in my stable.
+1, and those rims are my absolute favourites
