  • Just built, and fitted, some new wheels to the commuter. SLX hubs laced to Halo ExciteR rims. Really decent wheelset for its use (commuting, shopping, nusery runetc). The Halo rims were really good to build with, having a bit of depth for stiffness, while still having eylets.

Put some Bebop pedals on it too. Having ridden around with a skipping free-wheel, and busted pedals for a month. Its like having a new bike.

  • The new bebops you posted about? Review time perhaps....

I'll put a proper review in the 'list of clipless pedals' thread when I've put some more distance on them. I use this bike (not fixed) for all sorts of stuff, including trail riding, load carrying, and commuting. I'd like to see see how they function in these situations first.

Absolutly loving them so far though.

  • How do the planet X compare to an arionne?

They look pretty similar, but my arionne just isnt working for me, at £15 squid they look worth a punt.

They do look the same I have one on my Uncle John which is why I bought the x saddle to swop over, but it's so comfy I never did swop so I may sell the arionne and get anothe planet X

  • The planet x looks a little slimmer than my arionne in the tophos, which i think may solve my issue with the arionne. I suppose at 15 squid you cant really go wrong!

  • A better photo on the bike and the black on black decal.

    rattlecan job?

  • ^ Ouch

  • ^^ Seriously? For god sakes man it's an awesome paint job...

  • Bridgestone = hott! That's right. Worthy of two t's.

  • He he, no rattlecan here!
Professional paintjob, alltough on that picture you could be misstaken.
    Black metallic.

Just picked up a front Shamal a few minutes ago.

  • Feck off with your bling front wheels. lol

  • Ha ha, just happend to finish the build and got this at the same time.
This will most likely go on my Omega.

  • I have these on their way.

sorry mate from the closeup it looks rattlecanned, but good from far away...apart from the front wheel.

  • Just picked up this cute little Benotto with 24" tubular wheels.
Not the most beautiful Benotto ever, but as the previous owner of several 3000's, I couldn't resist this one.
It's going to be either for one of my kids (age 6 and 8), or I'm going to offer it to someone else who has some road race ambitions.

Heavy steel lugless welded frame, 46cm seat tube c-t and 46cm top tube c-t.
Looks like early 1980's because of the colour and decals, shifter cable guide below BB-shell (just one for rear, single CR in the front), brazed on shifter boss on down tube, SR crank with marking "80".
    SunTour dropouts (rear GT)
SR Silstar cranks, 152mm, 46T chain ring,
    5 speed multiple freewheel,
    SunTour Volante rear mech,
    36H Suzue hubs,
    Benotto labeled sprint rims 24",
Vittoria Junior 24" tubulars (not original),
    alu drop bars 32cm (!) c-c with 14cm drop,
alu quill stem 6cm with Benotto marking,
MKS cage pedals with very small Christophe size D (?) toeclips,
Shmn 105 Dual Pivot brakes with
SunTour Olé aero levers (both not original).

    Must do:

    • clean and grease up
    • remove rust
    • true and tension wheels/spokes
    • glue saddle cover
    • other brake levers, short reach
    • other brakes (optional, silver looks much better)
    • blue cables
    • bar tape (Benotto blue?)
    • chain and MF (optional)
    • heat set (optional)
    • pedals (optional)
    • new saddle, Concor junior (optional)
    • indexed shifting or SS (optional)
    • rear tubular colour tan/black, glue both tubulars

Hmmmmm, in the end it will cost more than I want...

  • Nice dimi3-

Every time I see these bikes I think I'd like one but they look like such a pain to build nicely.
