i would have got the canti fork if i had the chance but they dont make it any more. i've been looking into clamp on vee and disc brakes but will probably go brakeless or swap the fork. what headset are you using by the way?

I went through all of this when I got mine. Asked for the canti-version fork but they messed up the order and I didn't want to wait... I think unless you take drastic (ie. welding) measures you'll be riding brakeless for a bit. Didn't Scott get canti-mounts welded to his Gangsta-'tourer'?
I asked about disc brakes ages ago when the Gangsta was first made, they were looking into it but apparently stopped testing as the forks were breaking.
Headset is Brooklyn's own... have one on the SR-6 too, has held up OK so far.

welding is drastic, more inclined to get the new fork but i'll keep it brakeless for now. Do you know if there are any issues using the sram omnium track crankset on the gangsta? i've read it sometimes doesn't clear the rear stays on some frames.

Thought this was current projects not arty pics of bikes - the garden is also a project.

• #30886
obviously, but a bit of info, a clearer photo, or at least some words containing the make of the bikes is in order. from here it's just durrrr.
we're interested.

Seriously?
Ok, well the blue one was posted a while ago; Puch Clipper that's too small for me but will have to do until the autumn when I'll have enough £££ to buy a decent frame.
The Maroon (?) one is for the GF, it says the make Kent (US) on it but I can't any reference to that brand on the net, also has stickers on it saying sheffield, so I don't know what it is - probably some cheap import mixte but can't complain as it was cheap & she likes it. I'll borrow a camera and take a better pic when it's been updated.

yea seriosuly. thats the point of the thread. its interesting. we're all nerds here. anyway sounds good. haha yea kent is just what you think it is. It could be made to ride well though as a single speed for sure.

is it really too small for you? the stem and seatpost is quite high, but your stem length appear to be quite short, is that your preferred stem length?
-
• #30892
No, it's the one that came on the frame - can't be bothered to buy new parts when I'll probs replace them when I get the new frame. To give you an idea I'm 6'4" & the frame is 22.5"/23".

i know, just a glimpse of the condition, its all glittered too:
Ah... OK, no, it's held-up alright actually.
I liked the look of the original fork too, but thought the canti solution was a bit agricultural. Looked into clamp-on brakes, but was advised it wasn't possible. I'm sure you could bodge some kind of weld-on flat brace if you know someone who's handy in that department.
