God, everyone shut up about that pink GT already. It wasn't even the original paint FFS.

It looks bloody good stripped (though I just don't get triple triangles). Ray's build was ace and I told him so at the time, but Richoking's version is also top notch.

Ray's was all NJS stuff whereas Richoking has gone the performance route, with stuff from mostly American manufacturers I.e. truer to the frame anyway.

Current projects can be a fucking bear pit at times, and the new GT owner got some undeserved stick IMO. Yes it was a lovely bike when Ray owned it, but he sold it.

The new owner can do what ever the fuck he wants with it. Its his bike, his money, his taste. Some of the responses here have been properly lame.

why'd you fill in the cable routing? Not clear from the pics if there was some functional issue with it.

It was a mod done by zullini.
I felt that I had to restore her as per the original 1981 catalogue

There were also some holes drilled into the seat tube to rivet an additional bottle cage.
These I filled as well.

got you. most of the time, i'm not a fan of internal routing on traditional frames anyway.

This variety of internal routing where the pieces of tube can be damaged by accident very easily.(if theres no cable in it)

Got the SR stem and the Hsinlung bars today. Still battling to find a nice Kashimax saddle and white cotton bar wrap.

jambon, before you change stem and all that, I'd recommend you to go to the Bike Whisperer to get your position perfectly dialled before spending money on part.

This year is all about Columbus SL, Shimano 600EX Arabesque and (to be) shiny stainless steel lugs. Unfortunately with the one spare hour I can find each week, this might take a while...
