The only reason i use the word idiot is because you are peddling lies. You haven't seen the frame in ages because i've had it locked up for ages and the picture you refer to is quite old. No offence intended to you personally though. The other comments don't warrant a rise. As you were.

New owner new look i like it.
Obviously not how i would have built it up but nice to see it out there rather than on a wall.
the pink was sweet. chipped or not.

News just in, if you've never actually owned a specific frame, you have no say in what happens to it.
Get over it you bunch of moaning minnies.

At least it's not teal. :o$

Still not sure about the handlebars, might switch around with risers depending on mod.
I don't think Hippy'll mind that much, but it's probably worth checking it with him first.

p.s. what's been done to that GT is an abomination. A war crime. A SAND BLASTING HOLOCAUST.
-
• #29964
There was no sandblasting involved.

• #29965
I'd have built it up moar like this:

A GT will always look good silver/bare metal to me. Recalls the MTB team from the early 90s, like this Juliana Furtado replica.

i pitch in the crucifying of that butcher who robbed the gt of the pink. that was a lovely colour, a chip here and there hurts nobody, but a brilliant finish ripped of due to preference of the bare thing?
i feel sad.
...and them forks, hoops is right, they made that one a stunner, now its a bit of a rosé mess.
you should have not been given that frame as any other gt would have done fine for the tasteless arrangement of the decent parts you got going.
(bar the fugly seatpost, mind)i loved it... so much!

time to change some things.
the somec now with a campagnolo pista crank without the olmo-stamp, a better chain and somec bar plug ends!
the cannondale with a nitto technomic stem and a nitto riser.

thanx eingang, i am not so sad anymore.
@ sprint king, the many logos are hyper nervous and i feel the are counter productive to the stealth effort you seem to have gone for. i can imagine without the frame decals, it'll look mean.of, course the bars are personal preference as well for riding. for the look, i'd always go for nice pista curves rather than ergo without brake levers and hoods. the set up seems to underline the rise of the bike towards the front, yet aggressive track looking would require a more steep downward angled stem - maybe a bit shorter to make up for the risen saddle to bars drop.

I saw it, about a month ago... looked amazing.
Very sad that pink is now gone... probably the nicest GT ever around... : (I don't like this paint job much although I can appreciate the effort that's gone into it and the finish looks to be good. Mostly I just coz I don't like pink. Don't think there's anything wrong with the new owner changing it as it is their bike now. I would have painted it matt black myself. If you wanted to keep it like this you should have bought it yourself.

Just bought the frame. The last thing I need is another bike so i don´t know if I should build it up. The saddle is another recent project, I guled a new cover on a really beat up Turbo.
^This mate,
For the record, I didn't make any personal remark about you...
...and the next time you think of the word 'idiot' think of what you've done.
