sorry, i meant the cinelli alter stem only, not those ones.
If you can overbore an Integralter, you can overbore an Alter stem.

Who's this God character? Some bucolic flag lover?
I doubt whether even Terry Dolan would give a shit if I respray my frame. You seriously like that colour scheme?
It does not look like the Union Jack. Otherwise I would agree.
Both Cougar and Cannondale should be left in their factory finishes. Fit.

It's lovely! And distinctive. At least you're putting gears on it...
yes, nice gears too!
The hubs are rather special as well :-)
I've got a couple of Irish mates who wouldn't let me live that colour scheme down!
So anyone got any fade paintjob images/links?

^ can't you just pretend its a USA colour scheme?
-
• #28281
That looks like this though.
Still if I could live with it it would save me £150, which would be the biggest single outlay of the whole project.
I'm surprised these Cougar frames are not more highly valued/regarded some proper pedigree and very well built.

If you ride this on road, your back might die. Thats alright though.

They were ten a penny for a while in the early 1990s so aren't that rare and I think that keeps prices down.
Nice frame, do what you want with it.

Here is my (well my Dad's now) Cougar in Reynolds 731, lovely frames, you won't be disappointed. Oh and keep the paint, seriously:

Bo! Like that a lot.

Love that burnt orange colour.
Same as this Gillott, which is one of my favourite bikes.
I have a '54 Gillott Fleur de Lys, I'm going to get refinished in the same colour.
NICE

Bo! Like that a lot.
Thanks, can't complain though, I have finished putting together my replacement road bike, fillet brazed Columbus Max, Campag Centaur 10 speed, Shamals with Veloflex Corsa clinchers, Thompson pin, Turbo Super saddle, Nitto stem and ITM bars. So fucking heavy, but I love it.
One day I will take a photo of it outside so the wheels show off their mirror finish.

Shee-it is that yors Crispin? That's a killer colour.

And on that day I will hate you even more.

Yeah, it's actually a bit more scarlet than that

Plus I'm not looking for a permanent, flawless finish. Ratty is better.
Before you decide to do just this, try the rat bike finish. We can help. Just lock it up with your raw chain and let us shake it up a bit.

You gonna get it just like the Llewellyn? Lugged or fillet brazed? Make sure to get some Boras for it too!
-
• #28296
i know its insignificant and very nitpicky
but that orange bike would look alot better (to me) with vertical dropouts -
• #28297
It's got hipster cysts and a bell, and you're picking on the dropouts?
-
• #28298
Plus Shamals with mudguards
-
• #28299
since when is having mudguards on shamals hip?
-
• #28300
Didn't say it was hip, I was being nitpicky. Shamals would usually be on your 'best' bike, mudguards on a winter bike (or something like that)
I have been after a Cougar in that paint scheme for a couple of years now, love it, but do what you want, its your bike!
