burls lust, definitely one of my favorite builds, so classy.
does titanium really feel that much different to aluminum?fuck yes and yes and yes
one is a jaw breaker, the other like rolling on an air bed
Ti is such a comfortable ride, but best bet is to go and try one

Jammy is your new bike done yet, or have I missed the pics of it built up?

I'm hoping to hear from Ricky today that I'll be picking it up on Saturday! All resting with the painter...

indeed because ti is not for everyone and despite popular myth is not the wundermetal it is made out to be. the properties of the material are actually working against making it stiff enough for some.(it's about half as stiff as steel which is why the o/d's are bigger to offset this) the high end multi butted and shaped tubes are an improvement over plain gauge and round double butted tubesets and mitigate the so called 'dead' feeling of some ti frames but the cost is very high.
'bike for life' is a myth too as you still get fatigue failures with ti and the repair cost is high. the litespeed integrated headset saga from a few years ago wasn't exactly an advert for durability. -

Some nice things over the last week or so!^
That Nag's a beaut.
@dj those are pictures of someone else's Mather, not yours, right? You're still deciding on how to apply a fancy decal ... or have I got this wrong?

I like Ti, but I like steel, carbon and aluminium too.

Does anyone have the tool to fit/remove a Campagnolo Veloce BB that I can borrow this weekend?
-
• #27487
Long stem + uncut LA84 bar = endo the first time you hit a bump :-)
The girl riding along the road looks like she may have some "potential"

Thanks VinalVillain...

Cheers KC... I actually find that position quite comfortable. I tend to sit forward a bit when I'm riding to be more ontop of the BB.

Reynolds 653... I couldn't afford anything better than that... I'm only using it to ride around town so it's not really worth spending a small fortune on keirin tubing.
-
• #27494
You don't need any better tubing just to ride around town anyway, it's hard to tell the different if you're not a competitive cyclist.
-
• #27495
Agreed! 653 is quality stuff, anyway.
A very nice bike to be riding around town on :-)
Enjoy.

I was under the impression 653 is rather ancient ... more likely to be 631?
Sorry if I am totally wrong. I'm sure there are plently of builders around with stocks of old tubes ... but you tend to see offered by builders currently, from the reynolds range, 525, 631, 725, 853 (and 853 Pro), offered as standard options.

Actually, could be 631.... might be getting that mixed with 853... It's the stock tubing that 14 do for the Hanbury. It's really light and feels great to ride so I'm not complaining at all.

Aha. Yes, 631.
Haha, just to make sure Im not that guy haha, just putt it in their window.
And btw he paid enough for it already (imo), so many jokes about stopping it on a dime been made.
Yea it's the one with the crack in the tt, still debating on the repair tho.. It's 250 for the
repair and about 220-250 for the respray, so about 500.
But it's too small for me, and he does not want to spray pearl anymore, so might leave it as it
is and hang it on the wall. But Im not sure yet. Going to rebuild my other RIH first.
