  • Yeah it is in great condition. Few marks from storage but it's never been built up, just sat in the shop until yesterday when I got my grubby mits on it

  • Les Byant frame, I've been told this was made by Mercian.
I will be fitting drop bars and probably those leather sew on grips from freshtripe.

  • Finished.
    Reynolds 753 frame.

I preferred the frame as was to be honest

Me too, I'm going to cry! I loved that frame!

To each their own though. I'm sure you'll still enjoy the hell out of it.

  • I'm starting to plan my first build and I'm wondering on how I should split my budget. If I have a total of £400 roughly how much should I be spending on the frame?

    ta

  • £110 frame + fork
    £100 wheels
    30 tyres + tubes
    25 headset + Bottom bracket
    25 stem +seatpost
    10 saddle
    10 handlebars
    20 pedals / clips
    50 cranks
20 brake and lever and cable

    I've probabaly forgotten something major.
    EDIT... + cog + chain + grips
You can grab bits cheap off here first then figure how much you have left for the frame.
Feel free to amend these value anybody - just guessing.

  • chain.

  • I might as well get on the google and tell them exactly what to buy!

  • Buy it for him too.

    Scratch that, buy me something.

  • buy me a river.

  • Thanks provenrad, wasn't expecting that much detail.

  • i just finished building my beater, slack chain i know, i'll sort it tomorrow.

and the koga is done, baring the wheels, which i'm gonna have to wait another 2 months for the rims :(

  • ^ Koga - Nice! Does the fork come drilled for a front brake?

  • Slack, define beater for me?

  • .

  • The fork comes drilled and filled so I just drilled the filler out, I apologize for any dead kittens.
Superprecise, beater: pub bike, town knock about?

  • the sticker on the back is comical and ironic:

"Straight chain love " next to a slack chain

  • Is the Koga for the track or for "special" occasions? I do like those Kogas. Peeps can post pictures of Nemo as much as they want ut it is lovely. I've been eyeing up the one at Bicycle Magic for a while. Oh if only I had the €£$. :(

  • Slack, define beater for me?

It's got lots of stickers, innit. :)

  • Gotta love Nemo too. Bless.

  • aaaaaah

  • The fork comes drilled and filled so I just drilled the filler out, I apologize for any dead kittens.

    Ta.
Even more tempted to get one now.
Would prefer this, but it is 3,500 euros (about 2,500 quid!) for F&F.

what are the rims mr bunny ?

  • Straight chain love refers to chainlines not tension. Fact.
Yeah, the koga is a special occasion and track only bike. It's too pretty to get dirty

  • The rims are Taurus RMX.
