I like my bikes to look nickable. Enjoy your rats, boys!

Nickable is nice to look at an all, but as for my own bikes the rattier the better :) I feel less bad about riding the shit out of them then...

and still, i bet only cause it looks white, come on, admit it
It looks a bit lighter in the pix than in real life because I had to use flash this morning. I actually bought it because Wippermann make the best chains, and the galvanised ones are the most corrosion resistant chains I've tried. Being a race bike, it tends to get put away wet, because cleaning your bike is the last thing you want to do after your day has already been made miserable by getting rained on in a race.

I've decided to go for 9 speed. It will be single speed for now until I get the rear mechanism and re-lace the rear wheel to the Chorus hub.
Chorus ergo levers, Cenatur CT cranks.. Probaly end up with Chorus/Record instead of Centaur/Veloce.
I've measured the brake cables. Campagnolo gear cables will arrive on Monday. Front 650c clincher(!) Shamal is here.http://farm5.static.flickr.com/4022/4469126532_7d1da99863_o.jpg

Hope it's better quality than my last Flite..
After a week (mostly wearing lycra):
I send it back to CRC, got a refund, bought another model (the one just a bit earlier than this one) and it did the same within a week...
Shitty crap saddles.. I have several black ones that never did this, and I have one of the older yellow real leather Flites never did this..
I hope your SLR holds out better.. It looks to be used so I guess it will :)
That'll fuckin' teach ya for buying yellow shit.

currently set up for long-distance training
"long distance" is a relative term. In hipsterskidderville it's to the offie AND back with walking it. 'ardcore

i do ok, i dont pussy out on hill climbs
there are no traffic lights in the countryside
you just push as hard as you can all the time i don't care what the average speed/distance is
I haven't adjusted the bars before the photo. They are further forward and down.
Why do I want to stop pedaling when going downhill?
There might not be lights but there's traffic, junctions, animals, road hazards..
What gear is that? If I was on aerobars and even just a London downhill I'd be doing 50kph without even pedaling.. in the country with some proper hills at 80kph.. I need brakes. Do you not have any bends in the road where you live?
It's a bikesnob build isn't it?

I find it's a bit hypocritical when some called out on his set-up of the nags when it's perfectly reasonable for long distance riding.
especially when some people ride a low pro with the narrowest handlebar and the highest saddle. No it fucking isn't. It's the complete antithesis of good for long distance riding.

why do people think its so mad to put aero bars on a fixed gear? if i lived in a flat city like london i would too, but out in the country i like to have the tops of drops bars available for climbing.
Riding in an aero position when there's a traffic light every 200m = dumb, that's why.
Being more upright makes it far easier to look around you too.. it's difficult to do fast head checks on aerobars since your shoulders get in the way. That means you'll probably pull out in front of people who are actually riding something sensible and your aerobars will then be inserted into your rectum. -

although the hills have to be considerable to allow gravity to take full effect.

It's neither white not TiN, it's a Wippermann 1Z1, i.e. galvanised, so the colour is Zinc, which is a "white" metal
Is that the same as a Nexus chain?
