Starfish and coffee have you thought about using a road double instead of singlespeed cranks. You can get some really nice stuff much cheaper than the equivalent track versions.

Almost there... Woulda been finished today but managed to destroy another Miche lockring so got no cog... Bugger... New Campag Pista/MA2 boots, Super Record Pista headset and 47t Campag chainring... All bought off the forum I might add... Lovin' it... :D
Or it me, Joe, or are those forks rather bent? Could just be the camera angle, but they look like I've been riding them!
That's fucking awesome. Take it in to bike 14 with those bars on....
Are you trying to get the poor lad shot?!

Seems impossible to find risers that fit Cinelli (26.4mm) clamp size. -

i'm a student, so this is definitely a budget bike.

wooop
[pic of crabon]
my girlfriend is angry with me for buying such an 'ugly' bike and i am struggling to justify how it's beautiful in a different kind of way. can't wait to get it built
Girlfriends rarely understand crabon bikes. They're all about the steel. Mine hates my Focus Cayo, although admittedly the graphics are fugly.

Not quite right, on either. The head tube, which now includes the fork steerer tube if it's outside the head tube (e.g. Look 496, Felt DA etc), has to fit in the 3:1 profile applicable to all the tubes on a frame. You can have a fork without lawyer lips as long as it was manufactured that way, but you're not allowed to modify any production part and use it in a UCI sanctioned race, so filing off the lawyer lips is banned. Factories have for some time been producing short runs of forks for Pro use with CNC machined aluminium fork ends (even on forks which usually have carbon tips) in order to make all the forks have exactly the same fork end thickness, so any spare wheel off the team car will clamp to any fork on a team bike without adjusting the QR.
