Reen,
about time!Lovely bike, and aren't you glad you got rid of the other one now.
Gonna take this one for a spin when I get back, if you haven't upgraded again before then. -
• #23505
i intend to >NOT< brake this one. so yes, you are more then welcome.
*pfew, whipes forehead
i am glad yes, how could i not, i mean whot an upgrade hm?!
just sad as i spend so much time and problemsolving, as well as good 5000 something miles on the old one and i quite liked it, you see.but this baby is a whole different league right there. rides nippy and responsive, stiff as hell yet so not nervous. a real grown up ride in comparison.

Yeh it's the charge one, they've got nice flair to them, and it's quite a shallow drop. only problem I had was with the modern looking etched charge logos, which go right near the stem, had to sand and polish them off, which was a bit of a nightmare.
Wanted to capture something of this with the bar setup.
Same here. Now I have to sand down that horrible Soma logo, fit the mudguards and wait for Tommy to finish building the front wheel..

Ghey! In a good way. I didn't know you have so much of it in you ;-)

Stop showing off your fancy allen keys!
Really tidy build. I like those retro rims. -

They are good. There are build in crayons on the long ends.

hey, not bad. why mudguards? summer is up. put some fatty looking 28c gumwall tyres on it and have it old school racer all the way.

I want to fill the gap left after swapping the wheels for 700s.
I have the 25s fitted, but will swap for 28s Paselas probably (when the money comes my way).It will never be a racer. Not with these clearances. More a flying gate.

The spoke overlaping, close to the hub flange, looks wrong to me. I would have thought all the heads-in spokes should cross the first heads-out spokes on the outside.
Alternative lacing pattern, less spoke bending.

hahah @ Pisti.
Can anyone answer me a little question about clearances:
What's the largest tyre you can get in and out of caliper brakes (ones with QRs)? -
• #23520
Hi everybody,
i am new here & just want to say hi. I also included a picture of the my actual project.
I am a big fan of vintage Gazelle Champions bikes and last summer i found a 1974 Gazelle track frameset for 200 Euros in Berlin, including a 1973 Campa pista headset, bottom bracket and crankset. I had to remove the paint, there was too much rust underneath. Actually, there were two layers of paint and the wrong type decals on the frame, too.
Right now the frame gets a repaint in a original Gazelle colorway, which is Metallic-Green.
I have all the parts i need for the rebuild at my home and i am really excited to get the frame back this or next week to finally complete it.
Don't get me wrong on the Brooks saddle, i have a complete Campy Record Pista groupset and a lot of french parts like a Philippe Pista adjustable stem & handlebar, Mavic Record du Monde tubular rims, Wolber tires and a Perache Super Professionelle saddle for the frameset.Regards
Reisberg

Depends on the caliper?

lovely job so far Reisberg

That looks better.
Infact thats an interesting pic.
I am plannng to lace the non-drive side of a rear wheel 1x, with all heads-in. Using 8 spokes on a 16 hole flange (32 hole hub). I've been trying to work out how much the spokes will have cleared the flange before the cross. -

Looks very nice Reisberg!

Now I feel stupid.
I guess I'm going to use something like a medium-long drop tektro. I'm guessing I could go as far as a 32 with some fairly roomy brakes.
Good stuff reeen
